To My People,

As I sit down to write these words, I am overwhelmed with a mix of emotions – gratitude, reflection + a touch of nostalgia. Our journey with Heist has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride, filled with challenges, triumphs + countless moments that have shaped us into who we are today.

In 2019, we embarked on a mission to create something meaningful – a social exchange - a relaxed gathering place with an atmosphere that fosters connection, conversation and community; a spaces that encourages laughter and kindness, welcoming you as you are - nothing more, nothing less. Heist was born from a simple phrase I use all too often, "I have an idea!” And little did we know that this idea would grow into a significant chapter of our lives.

Dream chasing has always been a part of my DNA. The thrill of pursuing a vision, the relentless pursuit of a goal – it's what invigorates me, what propels me forward. However, in the pursuit of our dreams, I lost sight of what truly matters – the incredible individuals who make up my world, my family.

While Heist allowed us to continue our mission of serving others, it also took my attention away from the very people who mean more to me than anything else on this earth. It's time for me to refocus, to redirect my energy + attention to the five most incredible humans I know – YOU.

Thank you, my dear family, for standing by me through thick + thin. This journey has not been an easy one + I recognize the sacrifices each of you has made. I've missed many special moments + for that, I am truly sorry. Your encouragement has been my fuel when I felt empty, your laughter a guiding light in the darkest of times.

Your honesty has challenged me to be aware of who I was becoming + your reminders about the importance of faith over ego have kept me grounded. Your prayers have centered me, your patience has allowed me to see clearly + your grace has permitted me to fail forward.

As we close this chapter with Heist, I am filled with excitement for the next one. I believe it will be epic because I am choosing to prioritize what truly matters – our bond as a family. The moments we share, the love we give + receive – these are the building blocks of a life well-lived.

Today, with an immense amount of gratitude, we bid farewell to Heather, the culinary virtuoso who stepped into the role of Head Chef at Heist with unparalleled dedication + creativity.

Heather, our culinary maestro, joined Heist as a Line Cook but swiftly rose to the head role with no prior experience in such a position. Reluctantly accepting the challenge, she exceeded every expectation, working harder than any team member to craft a menu that we are truly proud of.

Fulfilling every request + embracing every crazy idea, Heather has consistently shown that for her, the joy lies in making people happy through delicious food, fostering a space where people can gather to celebrate over an amazing meal.

Known for her caring nature, loyalty + creativity, Heather became not just a Chef but a captain leading a kitchen brigade with cooks of varied experience levels. She trained an entire kitchen, some with little to no previous experience + inspired them to step into roles they never thought possible.

Heather's infectious smile + the joyful declaration of "water break" have become iconic in our kitchen, creating a positive + hydrated environment for her team.

Outside the bustling kitchen, Heather discovers joy in life's uncomplicated pleasures. Whether it's cherished moments spent with her wife, Julie + their beloved pups, engaging in camping adventures, losing herself in the challenge of puzzles, enjoying movie nights, relishing the serene landscapes of Hilton Head, or embarking on moonshine tours—Heather not only appreciates but wholeheartedly embraces the beauty of simplicity in every fleeting moment.

Heather, small in stature but immense in strength, swiftly ascended from a talented bartender to the dynamic Front of House Manager, leaving an indelible mark on our leadership team. Responsible for training our front-of-house teams in service + hospitality, Heather set the bar high + led by example.

Untouchable in the realm of cocktail creation, Heather's creativity + flair elevated Heist to have the most sought-after cocktails on the west side of town. Her fearlessness extends beyond mixology; there is no task too big, no request too small for Heather. She thrives on challenges, exceeding expectations + constantly striving for excellence.

Heather's enviable connections with guests speak volumes about her warmth + approachability. An amazing listener + conversationalist, her uplifting spirit has touched everyone around her. Setting Heist to high standards, she has supported the team at every turn, ensuring they reach + surpass their goals.

Though leaving Heist, Heather's journey doesn't end, as she steps into the role of the new General Manager for the next exciting business to grace the beautiful space that once was Heist.

When not dazzling us as a manager, Heather spends her Sundays cheering louder than anyone for the Bengals, showcasing her love for sports. A lover of travel, hiking, pups + her better half, Jameson, she'll be spending the year planning her wedding.

Heather, Heist owes so much of its vibrancy to you + your love for this community. Your leadership, creativity + commitment have shaped Heist into the extraordinary establishment it is. Today, we bid a bittersweet farewell to Kaylin, a cherished soul whose journey began at the Coffee Peddlar years ago, waiting with anticipation for the dream to unfold at Heist.

Kaylin, without a doubt, is the BEST bartender this side of the Mississippi. Her journey with us has been nothing short of spectacular. She isn't just a phenomenal bartender; she's the heart + soul of our Heist family.

Her heart, too big for her chest, radiates a genuine warmth that captivates everyone she encounters. To call her gorgeous is an understatement; her beauty runs deep, reflecting in the equally beautiful soul that resides within her.

Kaylin holds the title of the longest-employed team member between both companies + holds the honor of being the first hire at Heist. Her journey has been a testament to her devotion of excellence.

Outside of work, Kaylin transforms into the most competitive athlete. Whether on the softball field or engaging in extracurricular party activities, challenging Kaylin means preparing for a loss – she's a force to be reckoned with.

As a wife to the one + only Lucas + mom to two beautiful children, Kaia + baby Kaleo, family is Kaylin's top priority. Second only to that is her love for our guests. Kaylin has made lasting connections, serving selflessly behind the bar, knowing no strangers, only friends.
