Hey, everyone. If you swung by yesterday morning and weren't able to get your usual espresso fix, I want to sincerely apologize. I know how much you rely on that morning kick, and it breaks my heart when I can't deliver exactly what you are wanting.

We’ve had a few stubborn espresso machine hiccups over the last month. Brian has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to troubleshoot it, but since he couldn't sneak away from his job yesterday, I called in an emergency professional technician.

Here is the scoop: my espresso machine had a couple of small clogs that Brian was unable to get at but it is actually in great shape thanks to all the deep cleaning and part replacements Brian did! The real culprit is water sediment. Even though we have a heavy-duty, expensive water filter that is only 6 weeks old, I believe it's clogged after testing various waterlines myself last night. Because it’s a specialized commercial filter, I can’t pick one up locally and have to wait a couple of days for shipping.

While I’m rolling up my sleeves again today after we close at 11am to see if I can safely unclog this one in the meantime, my espresso machine may be down another day or two.

But here is the good news: The grind doesn’t stop!

Today is National Cancer Survivor’s Day and while it’s taken me the entire day to share my thoughts on this deeply personal day, here they are: the journey of a survivor is full of incredible strength, but it can also be an incredibly isolating battle. The best way to honor a survivor today? Let them know they are seen, valued and loved! Send a text, make a call, and remind them they are loved. A small gesture of connection is the most powerful gift we can give each other.

If you see my car strategically parked across the lot this afternoon, don’t worry I didn’t forget how to park!

On Wednesdays we close up at 11:00 AM. Since the rain has left us with some major potholes, we have our dirt and rock pile ready to fill them up as soon as it dries out.

With the awesome taco truck next door at Nelson Locker on Wednesday afternoons, our lot gets a lot of love from large trucks and semis parking. To keep those heavy wheels from sinking into the fresh mud holes or flattening our repair pile, I’ve deployed my car as a temporary security guard!

We love that everyone is grabbing tacos, we just want to keep our driveway in one piece so it's smooth sailing for your morning coffee run tomorrow! See you bright and early Thursday morning!
