Our company was founded in Forest Park, Illinois in 2015. Our first event was at a little holiday market at St. Paul Church in Chicago, where all we had to sell was scones and we sold out that same day. We have come a long way ever since!

¡Hola amigos! 😎🍞

What a weekend! I had the honor to participate at 's 40th year celebration in my beloved Chicago at this past Saturday. I was also part of the panel they had to discuss veganism today. I aml grateful that I was able to share some discussions with OG vegans like and . We've come such a long way and while things may look dark right now, I do see a lot of light in all the different local and diverse communities that we have. It was so great to see many people that I've known for years and also people I've met in the past year or so. We have a great community of vegans here in Chicago and the Midwest. So THANK YOU to everyone that made it to the event for Farm Sanctuary and thank for your support of this small chunky business we call The Chunky Scones. Last but not least, JOIN US in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, next Sunday, June 14th, from 11AM-4PM for Milwaukee Veganmania! Over 75+ vendors will be there with ALL the VEGAN goods! The event is COMPLETELY FREE to attend . Bring water and picnic gear and enjoy the event with all of us!

THE SHOP WILL BE CLOSED SUNDAY 6/14/26 because we will be there at the Veganmania in Milwaukee. If you need anything please stop by SATURDAY 6/13/26.

Hola amigos y amigas.

I meant to post about such a good time we had at in Madison, Wisconsin, at last Saturday but life got in the way. THANK YOU so much Beth and the rest of organizers, sponsors, volunteers, vendors, attendees, friends, and everyone else that made it possible.

The reason why I wasn't able to post anything is because I lost my best friend last Tuesday, May 19th. I wasn't planning to share this here but right after I became vegan in 2011 we adopted Apollo from back in January of that same year. I guess as vegans we often say to non vegans, make the connection. All animals have different personalities and individualities. Apollo was no exception. He was bilingual, could understand English and Spanish, fetch the Frisbee or stick and bring it back to you and he was the most loyal companion guardian I have ever known. If you wanna experience and see how all animals are able to FEEL and experience the world, I recommend visiting a sanctuary like or so that you see first hand how animals have more in common with us than we give them credit for. They are able to feel, play, communicate in their own way, and most importantly, are able to suffer. When I got Apollo out from CACC, you could see his ribcages, he had an injured nose, and he was missing some of his fur by his tail. When I saw him the 1st time, he barked at me and as he jumped we connected. When I got him out, he got healthy and became part of my family. While he was with me, we had many adventures together. We went to Orlando and sailed on a boat, got into the Atlantic Ocean in Daytona, we went to Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Big Sky Montana and also Yellowstone. We also went to Mount Hood in Oregon and I'm glad we did. If you love animals, then I would invite you to consider veganism as a lifestyle.

Having said all that, I am honored to be part of 40th anniversary at next Saturday, June 6th from 3PM-6PM. Please join us if you wanna learn more about veganism and what we're all about.

Last but not least, thank you to my family ❤️ because without them I would not be able to do these events that require a lot of effort to put together!

¡Hola amigos!

Chunky Palooza is just around the corner! It is all happening this coming Saturday, May 16th, from 10AM-3PM, at located at 1957 Sheridan Rd, in Highland Park, Illinois, 60035!

This is a family friendly VEGAN event where we all celebrate veganism with all of our communities! Expect LOTS of delicious food, vegan beauty products, arts and crafts from local vendors!

Come experience veganism is all about with us! We'll have good food, music, and lots of art! There is plenty of parking on the surrounding streets to The Art Center and the Public Parking Lot is like a block away so that should not be an issue.
If you're using public transportation, the Metra Highland Park stop is 2 blocks away so that should not be an issue either!

We really hope to see many, many, many of you there! THIS EVENT IS COMPLETELY FREE TO ATTEND!
We only ask that you support all of our hard working vendors!

🌞 ¡Buenos días! 🌞

I just want to share some of the cakes I've done in the past month or so. Please give us up to a 5-day notice for all cake orders. We cannot make cakes the same day or next day. This isn't Walmart. 🤣 Everything we do here at Chunky HQ is done with intention so please be mindful of that. 🧐🎂

I also want to let you all know this coming Sunday, April 5th, we will be closing at 2PM sharp because we have a private pizza party. 😎🍕 So if you need anything please come anytime before that time.

Lastly, please keep supporting small businesses & ALL vegan markets because we do things with more care and heart than big corporations. Also tomorrow we got in the house so come hungry from 11AM-3PM or until they sell out!

I want to share our brand new event called Chunky Palooza! An ALL VEGAN event happening on Saturday, May 16th, from 10AM-3PM at !

Expect lots of delicious vegan food, arts, and crafts!

Chunky Palooza is a celebration of all things VEGAN and CHUNKY!

🙏🏾 Gratitude post! 🙏🏾

Thank you to everyone that made it to our charcuterie event in collaboration with & ! We had a fantastic and super fun time as usual. We had such good company and delicious VEGAN food! As if that wasn't enough, also delighted us with a few songs that all of us enjoyed. In summary, we are gonna do it again!! Thank you to all my friends from the Chicago Vegan Society aka CVS pharmacy who made it to this event. Thank you for your support! I appreciate you all!

On May 5th, me and CVS are going to Janie's Mill for a field trip. We have to meet at The Mill at 9AM. Feel free to join us there for a special tour for a bunch of vegans. Also wanna give a shout-out to & for creating such a cool event for the community in Pilsen! Thanks for the invite ! 🙏🏾🇯🇲 I saw so many hustlers yesterday for their 1st event! They had a DJ for the whole time and amazing vendors with all sorts of vintage goods!! I look forward to being at that event again soon!

Lastly but not least, me and are planning a Puerto Rican brunch at the shop on Saturday, March 7th, from 11AM-3PM! We will make another post with a special menu for that day! Gluten Free people rejoice and join us! 🤣🤗

Hola and good morning! 🌞

I would like to take a moment to make a few announcements!

🍞 We stand with immigrants because I am an immigrant myself as owner of The Chunky Scones. Without immigrants and the slavery committed against my African brothers and sisters, this country would not be what it is today. Also, we all stand on indigenous land. Everyone is an immigrant unless you are indigenous and have indigenous DNA native to this land and continent. Having said that, I am aware of the general strike and we support it. We will remain open because we need the income just like any other SMALL BUSINESS out there. There have been so many vegan restaurant closings in the past few months and we would like to ask that if you have the possibility, please do support small businesses like ours and those of my friends like the ones you see me host at the shop or the ones that you see at the vegan events that we go to. The current political and socioeconomic climate isn't helping at all. So if you can, support small businesses over big corporations. There are many ways to help besides protesting. Building community is more relevant today than ever before. We protect each other. 🙏🏾🍞

🍞 Having said all that, this Sunday, February 1st, we'll be at a Mindful Baking Wholesale bakery at 4201 N Ravenswood from 12PM-6PM! There will be lots of food and music! Stop by and let's make 's event a complete success!!

🍞 Then, on Saturday, February 7th, come to the bakery to get Chicago's favorite VEGAN SOUL FOOD aka from 11AM-3PM or until they sell out! Come early before they do!! Call the bakery if necessary!

🍞 The following weekend, on Sunday, February 8th, find us at at I. Logan Square from 12PM-4PM!

🍞After that, on Sunday February 15th, find us in 2 places simultaneously! 1st at my bakery with my charcuterie, sourdough, biscuits, & wine PRIVATE event! Tickets are available on my website! Link is on BIO! Secondly, find us with our friends from at in Downers Grove, from 12PM-3PM!

It's been a while since my last post but here I am! 😎🍞 I'm excited to announce a super fun event I'm organizing with my friend Tiffany, from , at my bakery in Highland Park on Sunday, February 15th from 3PM-6PM.

Enjoy a curated selection of Feed your Head products, crackers, breads, and refreshing drinks & all included with the purchase of your ticket. We will also make plain cheddar or jalapeño cheddar biscuits at this private event. 🙏🏾 THANK YOU POST. 🙏🏾Grateful for all the experiences this year has brought me. Thankful for all the new people I've met this year and full of gratitude for the friends and family that I can rely upon. This list will definitely be incomplete but I want to thank my family who always help me at events or at the shop in many ways, to my many friends such as , , , , and everyone else I see at events whether you are a vendor or a customer. Thank you to all the vegan communities in Chicago and everywhere else that always show up to support small businesses like mine. Thank you also to the loyal customers of Ravinia and Highland Park who come to the shop to get their Chunky goods as well. 🙏🏾🍞

Next year we got quite a few events lined up for all of you. We are planning a few events. One of them on February 15th which will Include our sourdough breads & charcuterie by my good friend Tiffany from . Be sure to stay tuned for a stellar new event called Chunkypalooza on May 16th at the . And as if that wasn't enough we also have the return of Lucha Vegan 4th edition on a location TBD, Chunkymania in the late fall as well as all the vegan events we participate in right in between all those events.

Also this coming Sunday we'll be closed at noon sharp for a private event so if you would like anything please be sure to call ahead and pickup prior to that time.
