Meathead Tater Salad

2lbs of new potatoes
1/4 tsp salt
3 Tbsp of Meathead #82 or Cranberry Mustard from Meathead Kitchen
3/4 cup of mayo or miracle whip
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 tsp smoked black pepper
1/2 tsp pink Himalayan salt
2 stalks of celery with leaves, chopped
1 small red pepper, chopped
1 small yellow pepper, chopped
1 medium red onion, chopped
3 hard boiled eggs, sliced
1 Tbsp Parsley

Place washed potatoes in a large pot. Cover with water and add the 1/4 tsp of salt. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and cover. Simmer for 20 minutes. Set aside to cool.

While cooling, in a large bowl combine the mayo or Miracle Whip, sour cream, Meathead Kitchen mustard, and salt and pepper.

Chop veggies and add to the dressing mixture.

Once cool enough to handle, dice the potatoes, and slice the eggs. Gently add both to the bowl and turn with a wooden spoon until we’ll combined.

Sprinkle with parsley.

Serve with hot dogs slathered with Meathead Kitchen mustards, pork butt rubbed with Meathead Kitchen mustard and then smoked, or hamburgers mixed with Meathead Kitchen mustard. #603

Our molasses isn’t made the old way. But our mustard is.

The seeds soak four up to two days in the water and the acid (juice, vinegar, wine, etc.).

The molasses, berries, garlic, salt, and other ingredients are measured by Ben and Beth by hand.

We watch the pot and bring it to a slow boil.

We fill the jars carefully by hand and ensure each seal.

Our labels are applied one at a time and we fill the packages as a family.

Your sandwich, salad, BBQ, or sauce that you make with our mustard is our family’s loving honor to create for you.

It is happening. After COVID destroyed all of our retail presence, the mustard, tea, and other yummies had to duck out for a moment.
But. We. Are. Back!

Click below to pre-order your mustard. Eventually the other offerings will return, too. But for now, it is mustard ahoy! Now enjoy some bullet points.

-Mustard is boring. Well, it is from the store. It is an over-processed, one-note, undervalued afterthought.
-That isn’t the case at Meathead Kitchen.
-We exist because the Meathead Chef (Ben) loves mustard.
-But he couldn’t fathom putting cheap Gulden’s or French’s on everything for the rest of his life.
-And the “fancy” mustards on the top shelf were just labels with goop.
-So his first batch—Merlot and Molasses—was born.
-Eventually, 3 varieties existed with a fourth recipe worked out.
-Meathead #82 (not the 82d recipe, but an homage to Ben’s old unit, the 82d Airborne Division) and Cranberry Mustard won out when put to a vote.
-Now we make the mustard in our kitchen in batches of 23-46 8oz jars.
-If you haven’t tried it yet, try it now and get ready to order more.
