Tarrazu, located in the Central Valley region of Costa Rica, is known for producing some of the best coffee in the world. The region's unique geography, climate, and soil conditions all contribute to the high quality and distinctive flavor of Tarrazu coffee.

One of the key factors that make Tarrazu such a great place to grow coffee is its altitude. The region's coffee farms are situated at elevations between 1,200 and 1,800 meters above sea level, which creates a cooler and more temperate climate that is ideal for coffee cultivation. The cooler temperatures slow down the growth of the coffee plants, which allows the beans to develop more slowly and fully, resulting in a denser, more complex flavor profile.

In addition to its altitude, Tarrazu also benefits from its unique microclimate. The region is situated between two mountain ranges, which creates a natural funnel for the cool, moist winds that blow in from the Pacific Ocean. This results in a high level of rainfall, which provides the coffee plants with the water they need to thrive. 🇨🇷
