Good news: we'll be reopening tomorrow!
Starting Wednesday, June 3, we'll be back at it beginning at 6:00 AM.

A quick heads-up: from 6:00-7:00 AM, we'll only have one barista on duty. If Kandu is part of your morning routine, we'd love to see you, but if you stop by early, we ask for a little extra patience while we get rolling. Kristen will be in at 7:00, and another barista will join at 8:00.

One other note: we won't have cold brews available tomorrow. Our next batch is still brewing, and we're giving it the full 48 hours it needs. Cold brew is our most popular category, but we'd rather wait and serve it the way it's supposed to taste than rush it out before it's ready.

The good news? We've put together an entirely new lineup of specials, with a new drink in every category. We'll be sharing those in the next post, it will drop right away at 6am.

We also want to share an update to our hours moving forward. Beginning next week, Kandu will be closed on Mondays. And our new (old 😅) hours will be:
☕ Tuesday-Friday: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM
☕ Saturday-Sunday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

These adjusted hours better reflect our busiest times, help ensure our staff is well supported, and give Blade and Kristen a healthier balance between work and home life.

We know changes like this can be an adjustment, and we truly appreciate everyone's understanding. Protecting our mental health and creating a sustainable business allows us to keep showing up, serving great drinks, supporting our team, and being here for the long haul.

Thank you for the patience, support, kind messages, and encouragement over the last few days. We're excited to open the window again, see some familiar faces, and get back to doing what we love.

One bit of uplifting news, y'all reached our May goal of hitting $50 in monetization funds (50.05 to be exact!) so we will be putting together our match to donate $100 to La Crosse Farmers Market Association 🫶

A quick update from Kandu.

We will definitely remain closed tomorrow, and it's possible we may need Wednesday as well. We'll continue to keep everyone updated as we work through things.

The last couple days have been spent deep cleaning, reorganizing, catching up on maintenance, and making sure both our staff and ownership team have had some time to rest and recharge. Progress is being made, but we're taking it one step at a time rather than rushing the process.

We know closures can be inconvenient, and we're sorry for that. At the same time, we're incredibly grateful for the patience, kindness, and understanding you've shown us.

Our goal remains the same: come back refreshed, organized, and ready to give you the experience you've come to expect from us.

We're looking forward to getting back to it and making this weekend a great one.

Hi everyone.

I wanted to share a quick update...

Since opening Kandu on Valentine's Day, we've served over 21,000 drinks. What started as a dream has grown faster than we ever imagined, and we are incredibly grateful for every person who has stopped by, shared a post, told a friend, or made us part of their routine.

The truth is that our tiny team has been running at full speed for months.

We don't want to become the kind of business that keeps pushing until mistakes become normal. We care too much about what we're building for that.

Right now, we need a moment to pause, regroup, address some operational challenges, and make sure we're setting ourselves up to continue serving this community well for the long haul.

Because of that, Kandu will be closed Sunday and Monday.

Our tentative plan is to reopen with DoorDash and limited operations early next week, but we'll keep everyone updated as we work through the next few days.

This isn't a goodbye. It's not a failure. It's simply a recognition that sometimes the most responsible thing you can do is stop, catch your breath, and make sure the foundation is strong before continuing forward.

Thank you for your patience, your support, and your understanding. This little coffee shop means the world to us, and we want to make sure we're giving it the care it deserves.

Good morning everyone.
We’ll be closed for drive thru service this morning while we take care of some much needed maintenance and operational work behind the scenes, in tandem with some staffing shortage.

We’re planning to reopen around 9am for DoorDash ordering once everything is squared away. We'll run a promo to try to soften the blow on this, more on that later.
