After much reflection, we have made the difficult decision to close at the end of October.

When we first opened our doors, our goal was simple but ambitious: to create a space where young chefs could learn, grow, and thrive alongside Hawaiʻi’s farmers, ranchers, fishermen and producers. We wanted to bring people together through food while honoring the community that makes Hawai’i so special.

Over the past few years, we’ve faced rising costs and operational challenges that have made it increasingly difficult to run the restaurant in the way we believe is right. With our lease ending, we feel this is the right time to close this chapter and look ahead to what’s next.

We are deeply grateful to our team, our loyal guests, and everyone who has supported Nami Kaze along the way. Your encouragement has meant everything to us. While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye, we’re excited to carry our vision for Hawaiʻi forward in new ways and hope you’ll stay connected for what’s to come.

We’re beyond proud to share that our very own Chef Jason Peel is the newest chef in ’s Featured Chef Series! ✈️

Now through November, guests flying First Class from Hawaiʻi to the continent (excluding BOS & JFK) will get to experience a special in-flight menu inspired by Chef’s upbringing on Kauaʻi, local roots, and the spirit of our islands.

The flavors may be elevated, but they’re grounded in the comforting memories of home. “I just want to be one of many happy, nostalgic memories created on a guest’s journey,” said Chef Peel.

Mahalo to Hawaiian Airlines for giving us the chance to take unique, local flavors from our kitchen at Nami Kaze HawaiĘťi to 30,000 feet in the air!
