Fun Fact Friday 🐾🌆

Did you know Houston area armadillos are basically little night shift landscapers? 🌙

The nine banded armadillo, Texas’s official small mammal, loves to dig for insects and can turn over hundreds of pounds of soil each year, helping aerate the ground naturally.

Bonus Houston twist: even though they look armored, armadillos are strong swimmers and can hold their breath for up to 6 minutes, which helps them navigate bayous and creeks around Houston. 💧😄
