TO MY LOVED ONES;
This last year has been the most difficult of my life. I knowingly lost myself; thinking diving back in would simple when I was ready. But the longer I stay at rest, the harder it is to get into motion. Ending my dependency to opioids felt impossible. I thought time would fix me…so in February, I went into hibernation; cutting myself off from virtually everything & everyone. I can see now that neglecting my chosen family and the passions that gave me vitality in isn’t necessarily the formula for health. Many of us have suffered as we grew into the adult body we never expected to inhabit. I see y’all and I love y’all. Y’all are worth more than this disappearing act.

While I’m glad to not main-vein my fulfillment every 4 hours, navigating life without an escape hatch has felt nearly impossible. What do I do when happiness has always come in the form of escalating extremes? Idk. But if I sit still for too much longer, I’ll forget how to walk. The endless search for satisfaction continues. I’m trying to trust myself again, accepting pitfalls along the way. Living in fear of making decisions has been much more excruciating than any of my failures. Anyway, I just wanted to say i love y’all. If I have been out of touch, it isn’t your fault.
