👇 Learn more & join us! The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest veterans service organization, committed to m

entoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans. American Legion Baseball is one of the nation’s most successful amateur athletic programs, educating young people about the importance of sportsmanship, citizenship and fitness. The Heroes to Hometowns program connects local Legionnaires with recovering wounded warriors and their families, providing a variety of support activities. The Legion raises millions of dollars in donations at the local, state and national levels to help veterans and their families and to provide college scholarship opportunities. The American Legion is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization with great political influence perpetuated by its grass-roots involvement in the legislation process from local districts to Capitol Hill. Legionnaires’ sense of obligation to community, state and nation drives an honest advocacy for veterans in Washington. The Legion stands behind the issues most important to the nation's veterans community, backed by resolutions passed by volunteer leadership. The American Legion’s success depends entirely on active membership, participation and volunteerism. The organization belongs to the people it serves and the communities in which it thrives.

Big improvements are happening at the Huntley American Legion!

You may notice one of our entrances is temporarily closed while we upgrade our doors. Don't worry. At least one entrance will always remain open, so you can still stop in and enjoy everything the Legion has to offer.

Thanks for your patience while we make these improvements. We can't wait to welcome you through the new doors soon!

🎆 What did you think of this year's 4th of July fireworks? Worth the wait? We sure think so!

The Huntley Fireworks, celebrating 250 Years of American Liberty, lit up the Deicke Park sky with an incredible show. If you missed it, or just want to enjoy it all over again, we've got a few highlights to share.

A big thank you to Jeremy G. for capturing these amazing photos and sharing them with our community! 🇺🇸

July 6, 1747: John Paul Jones, one of the greatest naval leaders of the American Revolution, was born on this day.

Known as the Father of the American Navy, Jones became famous for his courage, determination, and legendary words: "I have not yet begun to fight!" His leadership at sea helped shape the proud tradition of the United States Navy and inspired generations of American sailors.

Today, we remember his lasting legacy and his unwavering commitment to our nation's fight for independence. 🇺🇸

It's a simple but meaningful tradition, and with enough volunteers, the work goes quickly. If you have an hour to spare, we'd love to have you join us.

🇺🇸 Celebrating 250 Years of America 🇺🇸⭐💙

This Independence Day, we celebrate 250 years of freedom, resilience, and the brave men and women who have defended our nation throughout its history.

At The Huntley American Legion we are reminded that freedom is never free. It is preserved through service, sacrifice, and the commitment of generations of Americans.

As you gather with family and friends, take a moment to remember those who made these freedoms possible.
