Today, we celebrate 250 years since our Founding Fathers signed the Declaration of Independence and gave birth to the greatest nation the world has ever known. Like every family, we have our disagreements. We come from different backgrounds, hold different beliefs, and sometimes stand on different sides of important issues. But today isn’t about what divides us. Today is about what unites us—we are Americans.
We’ve had the privilege of welcoming people from all over the world during the World Cup. We’ve listened to their stories, heard about their countries, and so many of them have said the same thing: “You have a beautiful country.” They’ve stood in awe of Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon. They’ve talked about the kindness they’ve experienced and the opportunities that exist here. Hearing those words reminds me that sometimes we forget just how blessed we truly are.
There are millions of people around the world who dream of the freedoms we enjoy, the opportunities we have, and the ability to live our lives the way we choose. The freedoms we celebrate today were not given to us—they were earned and protected by generations of brave men and women who sacrificed so much so that we could live in this incredible country. Their courage, their dedication, and their love for this nation live on in each of us.
So today, let us carry that legacy forward—not just in celebration, but in how we treat one another, how we honor our freedoms, and how we choose unity over division. Let us remember that what makes America truly great is not just its history, but the people who continue to shape its future together.
We are grateful for our freedom, grateful for our opportunities, and grateful to call this country home. May God continue to bless the United States of America, and may He bless each and every one of you.
