Some local restaurants pulled all of their lettuce yesterday due to the Cyclosporiasis outbreak. There have been no reports of anyone getting sick or any reason to believe that the lettuce we've all been serving is part of the contaminated batch distributed in other states. I'm not sure what other restaurants will do next week..some may keep lettuce off the menu, while others might substitute it with a different kind. Personally, I'll stay updated and take it day by day. Until I feel comfortable, lettuce will remain off my menu. I'm still researching all the other items I removed last week, and those might be available again soon.
If you go out to eat after church today and they haven't removed their lettuce, and you don't feel comfortable eating it, just say, "NO LETTUCE!" If you want a salad and they have lettuce, you're a grown ass adult, just go ahead and order it! Just don't blame the restaurant if you end up sitting on the toilet!

Bill Peters, a reporter with MarketWatch, which is operated by Dow Jones & Co., included our little restaurant in one of his articles! He was very nice throughout the process. And don't worry, Idabel..l made sure to use all my smart college words and kept it clean when answering his questions, so I brought no shame to the community! 😁 I can be a sophisticated lady when I want to be!

I have green onions for the fish plate, but you’ll need to request them since they’re on the no no list of foods! I know, they may have found the cause but it’s not 100% yet, so just ask for the onion if you want it!

I've been posting about Cyclosporiasis for the past five days! Our posts have even been highlighted by various news sources online. Information on Cyclosporiasis is all over the news, it's all over the internet, people are stopping in the aisles at the Walmart to talk about it! So please stop getting mad at my staff because you're not informed!

In Oklahoma, there are 57 cases—56 are confirmed positive, with 6 hospitalizations.
Foods to avoid include:
• Leafy greens like lettuce and salad mixes - bagged salads
• Fresh herbs like cilantro, basil, and parsley
• Berries, including raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries
• Snow peas and green onions

We have removed parsley, kale, spinach, and green onions from our plates. The salad bar still has iceberg and romaine, and believe me, we have washed the hell out of it! If you choose to eat a salad, you're doing so at your own risk. We've also sourced a lot of produce from local suppliers (we appreciate y’all!). We're doing everything we can to keep you safe! However, you are a grown ass adult, and it is not our responsibility to keep you informed or to stand over you and tell you what you can and cannot eat. So please don’t come in and get mad at my girls because you “ate a salad and didn’t know nothing about no cycloassis!” 🤦🏻‍♀️

Oklahoma has reported 57 cases of cyclosporiasis, with 56 confirmed positive and 6 hospitalized. Unfortunately, I don't have information on which counties the confirmed cases are in, I haven't found that reported yet.
To keep everyone safe, we've removed parsley, kale, spinach, and green onions from our menu. We'll be replacing the green onions on our fish plates with locally grown onions. We've also sourced some other local produce, so we'll make changes and additions as we can. For now, we're still preparing salads and we’ll do our best to keep y’all safe. However, if you don't feel comfortable eating lettuce, please don't! Just let us know with a simple "NO LETTUCE!". I'm the one making the salads, and it won’t hurt my feelings if y’all take a break from them. I can just sit back and take me a little nap! 😁👍

USA TODAY highlighted a Red B post in this article! While I'm not sure about that “explosive diarrhea" headline,😂 we truly appreciate the mention! As of now, there are still no confirmed cyclosporiasis cases in Oklahoma, but we are surrounded by states that have reported cases. We'll keep updated and make any necessary changes to the menu as needed! Thanks so much for your support!
