As I wander further down the path of my love for food (in studying and taking classes to become a certified holistic nutritionist), I’m so grateful to be living in a time where people are beginning to return to the desire for the natural.

Food has always been medicine.
Herbs and spices 🌿
Macronutrients 🥩
Micronutrients ✨
Probiotics 🥛
And so on.

Before things like foraging and gardening became an act of the “poor” to survive, it was an art. The wisdom that was somehow preserved during western colonialism (largely in women’s kitchens, passed down from one healer to the next) is returning in large ways. It is finally regaining its power, and once again, cherished.

Let’s surround ourselves with delicious foods that keep us connected to Mother Nature, and indulge.

This week’s Charcuterie box includes some peppered salami, strawberries/blackberries/raspberries, hummus, pancetta, pistachios, veggies, antipasto olive salad, and cranberry sharp cheddar cheese.

Celebration of Life spread. She requested a lot of separated foods, and options that take the “work” out for the guests. I am finding balance as this became pretty normal during/since COVID. I used butcher paper under all the platters/boards to fill in with some classic charcuterie items.

I've recently had a few conversations about the difficulty of mimicking boards (with flowers, patterns, and a lot of other detail going on). I thought this would be a great opportunity to post a very simple Avocado Toast Board made for a brunch get together. If it was for a client I would have done it with all the extra detail…but it was delicious and perfectly presentable/easy to copy!

•mashed/seasoned avocado
•aged Gouda slices
•sliced tomatoes
•cilantro
•egg salad/ hard boiled eggs
