Hi friends, Jared here. I wanted to take a moment to invite you to a really special evening of wine we have coming up at Vida on Tuesday, May 12th.
Dan Petroski, founder and winemaker at Massican, will be spending the evening with us pouring his wines and sharing his stories.
Massican was for many years unattainable here in Indiana due to its cult status and small production - it was a wine I would be excited to see on lists and in stores elsewhere and I jumped at every chance to taste it.
We were lucky to have Dan’s wines enter our market just a few years ago, and in the wake of their arrival comes the man himself.
Dan first started learning winemaking at Valle dell’Acate in Sicily, where he fell in love with the expressive and energetic white wines of Italy. Through a series of twists and turns, he ended up as the cellar master at famed Calistoga winery Larkmead in Napa Valley. It was there, while reviewing crush reports, he discovered the incredible array of Italian white grapes being grown and harvested in his back yard, and became inspired to make the Mediterranean white wines he had fallen in love with in Italy. Massican was born, and he became one of the few people making primarily white wines in the valley.
We will have available to enjoy by the glass or bottle the full Massican range - Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, “Annia” (Tocai, Ribolla, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco White Wine Blend),“Gamina” (Greco, Falanghina, Fiano White Wine Blend), and the Hyde Vineyard Chardonnay.
Whether you are a casual wine lover or a seasoned industry professional, I guarantee you will find so much enjoyment and learn so much from coming by and grabbing a glass with us.
This event will be held on the bar side of our restaurant and will be walk-in only. A la carte and our standard food menus will be available in addition to the full range of our beverage program. I hope you can join us!
