A dear friend of ours, Diane Pigg, moved to Iowa a few years ago to live closer to her family. Itβs always sad when someone we see so often moves away, like a void has been ripped into each day they arenβt here. Diane never let that void grow, though. She loved traveling, and with each new coffee shop she tried she would let us know how good they were, but that they were never as great as her home town coffee shop.
And it was her coffee shop, because she treated us like hers, like family. She made it known that she was forever cheering for you, believed in you, and was proud of you. When you give care to something like that, it becomes yours in a way. We hope she knew the same, because she was more than a kind regular, more than a dear friend, more than the best pen pal, she was our Diane.
Our hearts are beyond heavy that we will not get to see her come through our doors again, but they are made lighter by the knowledge that sheβs holding hands with her David now.
Thank you for being you Diane, and thank you for sharing that with us ποΈπ€
