One of our favorite ways to brew is the Pour Over! Check out this simple guide to start making great coffee at home with pour over basics ☟ ☕️⚡️

Water & Temperature
You could brew your coffee at “near boiling,” but youde be denying yourself the best cup. We prefer a brewing temp of 195-200. This helps compensate for temperature loss and provides the best extraction possible.

Beans, Ratio & Grind
Pre-ground coffee is easy and tempting, but it dramatically falls short of freshly ground beans in taste and quality. When grinding your coffee for a pour over aim for a grind that is about the consistency of sand. We prefer medium-fine over medium-coarse. You’ll want to pair 3-4 grams of freshly ground coffee for every 12oz of water.

Wet the Dripper
Place your dripper on the carafe. Pour enough hot water to wet the filter. This removes the potential of papery tasting notes as well as but preheats your carafe, preventing heat loss.

Make the Bed
After dumping out the water, dump your coffee grounds into the dripper and lightly shake to flatten the bed. A flat bed prevents clogging and promotes even extraction.

Bloom & Pour
It’s time to pour! You’ll want to start pouring at the center of your dripper and work your way out to the sides. Be sure to go slow and enjoy the process. When your finished the coffee bed should remain flat then you’ll know you’ve just brewed a great cup!
