Bootstrap Compost Slaying waste throughout Greater Boston, the Merrimack Valley, Rhode Island & Hudson, NY! The cost: $11 for weekly service and $15 for biweekly service.

Here's how it works: Bootstrap provides households with a 5-gallon bucket. Over a week or two, clients fill it with coffee grounds, egg shells, meat, tea bags, veggie matter — you name it. On your designated service day, leave the bucket on your doorstep; Bootstrap will pick it up and leave you with a fully cleaned and sanitized bucket, lid and compostable liner. We are thrilled to share this impact report from our new composting partners, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell. It's a beautiful reminder of how small efforts add up. Props to these youngsters for their commitment to smart resource management!

• 950 lbs of food scraps diverted from the landfill
• Environmental impact equal to growing 6.3 urban tree seedlings for 10 years
• The equivalent of 942 miles not driven
• A savings equal to 42 gallons of gasoline

Say hello to the realest composters of Rhode Island -- a crew of hard-workers that helps thousands of local residents and businesses compost TONS of food scraps daily. From navigating pickup routes to washing buckets to answering customers' inquiries, it's rare that we take a break, but this week we got together for lunch at Latte Love Coffee House in Johnston to reflect, strategize, and build our bonds as a team. Nature shows us: In order to grow, you have to eat and you have to rest! Now, back to business cleaning and greening our communities here in the Ocean State. 🪣♻️🌊✌️
