Joining us on July 1st: The Cox Family !

he Cox Family from Cotton Valley, Louisiana continues a trademark sound spanning over seventy years of traditional roots in gospel, bluegrass and country music. The continued legacy of founding member Willard Cox lives on through his son Sidney Cox and his daughters: Anna, Sara, and Lydia.

Sidney’s oldest daughter (Anna) now plays bass and entered the band with her father and two aunts in 2016. Later, his two younger daughters: Sara (guitar) and Lydia (mandolin) joined the band in 2020. Together, they have stayed true to the familiar harmonies by adding another generation to the music that audiences from all over the world have enjoyed for years.

Within recent years, the band has celebrated many opportunities, starting with debuting their latest single on the Dailey and Vincent Show and preforming to a sold-out crowd at Nashville, Tennessee’s own famed Station Inn.
The single “First Time I Heard About Heaven” entered the charts and remained there for 42 weeks, while they also held a spot in the top 5 on the Bluegrass Today Gospel Charts.

Joining us for the first time on , please help us give a warm welcome to Tanasi !

TANASI is a worldgrass trio based in Asheville, North Carolina, channeling global folk traditions through the drive, textures, and close harmonies of an Appalachian string band. With Billy Cardine on dobro and slide instruments, Anya Hinkle on vocals and guitar, and Mary Lucey on vocals, upright bass, and clawhammer banjo, the group unites three widely acclaimed roots artists whose combined careers span decades of touring, recording, and cross-cultural exchange. Their music follows the invisible threads that connect cultures, landscapes, and hearts—from Nepal’s high plateaus and South African villages to the mountains of Appalachia—celebrating the shared human rhythms that surface wherever people gather to sing, dance, grieve, and love.

The members of TANASI have appeared on iconic stages including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Ryman Auditorium, and at leading festivals such as Bonnaroo, MerleFest, Grey Fox, RockyGrass, and the Earl Scruggs Music Festival, alongside performances across Europe and Asia. Cardine is recognized as a pioneering voice in modern slide work, collaborating with artists including John Paul Jones, Edgar Meyer, Jerry Douglas, and Debashish Bhattacharya. Lucey helped define contemporary string band music through The Biscuit Burners and Uncle Earl, while Hinkle is an award-winning songwriter with internationally celebrated solo releases.

Their self-titled debut album is now available wherever you listen to music!

June 19th: are ya'll ready for a totally unique, high-energy show? Look no further than Hogslop String Band (w/ special guest Hannah Marie Kelley Music )

Staying true to tradition while maintaining a bold irreverence is something that rarely goes hand-in-hand. But Hogslop String Band manages to walk that line, with their roots in old-time string band music, and their energy based in wild rock-and-roll, you could almost call them punk purists.
It’s an unlikely combination, but given the talents of singer and fiddler Kevin Martin; guitarist, harmonica player and singer Gabriel Kelley; mandolin player and singer Will Harrison; banjo player and singer Daniel Binkley, and bassist and all-round entertainer Pickle, they pull it off with natural ease. The name alone hints at their wacky ways, but catching them live will give you a true sense of these bizarre, seemingly contradictory descriptions.
They thrive on crossing genres, casting off the confines of straight old-time and bluegrass, delving into a deep repertoire of rock, folk, psychedelic, and original numbers that can only be described as,"The Hogslop Sound." It’s clear that these boys are going places, and they've quickly become one of the most unique and exhilarating outfits on the scene today. “It only gets weirder from here,” they often say from stage. They're not kidding.

A Down Home crowd favorite, we're excited to welcome back Cruz Contreras on June 12th!

Cruz Contreras' music career started early in Nashville, Tennessee and by the end of his college career at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, he had co-founded Robinella and the CCstringband. The "CC" part of the stringband, Contreras played mandolin and co-authored several songs from their four studio albums. The first two records were independent. Then in 2003, Contreras, along with Grammy Award winning producer Russ Titleman, co-produced their third and self-titled album with Columbia Records for their major label debut. Their fourth album, "Solace For The Lonely" was signed by DualTone Records and released in 2005.
Contreras began singing, and in 2007, started what would become a fast and furious 12 years with his own band, The Black Lillies. From 2009 to 2019, The Black Lillies put out five records, toured nationwide and across Europe, performed at the Grand Ole Opry 40 times, and his independent records topped both Americana Album and Radio Charts. Contreras and his band played countless festivals including Bonnaroo, Jazz Fest, Picathon, DelFest, Floyd Fest, High Sierra, Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion, Red Ants Pants, CMA Fest, Stagecoach, Mile Zero Fest, and more!
The end of 2019 brought the beginning of Cruz Contreras' solo career. Unintentionally, but cosmically timed, this coincided with the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic which shut down the music industry as we all knew it. Throughout 2020, Contreras continued touring; rather than festival stages, he played socially-distanced yard parties and outdoor venues. Contreras will continue to establish his music under his own name. His debut solo album, 'Cosmico', is a testament to all Contreras has experienced as a lifelong musician and the caliber of his songwriting and musicality.

June 11th: you're not seeing double, but you will be seeing Rebecca Lee Daniels AND Rebecca Porter

Born, raised, and rooted in deep Appalachian musical tradition, Rebecca Lee Daniels has been creating and performing authentic, roots-driven country and bluegrass music since the age of 16 years old.
This fiery Appalachian artist has been steadily captivating listeners-turned-fans with her whip-smart lyrics deeply rooted in empathy and humanity packaged in pristine, pure Alison Krauss-like vocals. Rebecca Lee Daniels is enjoying the steady rise to becoming an Americana mainstay in Nashville and beyond.

Meanwhile, Rebecca Porter embodies the soulful, lonesome sound of the Shenandoah Valley, channeling raw emotion into every song. She transformed pandemic loneliness into two acclaimed EPs, 'Prime Rainbow Conditions' and 'Queen of the Local', and, through pure independent hustle, has brought her music to national audiences. In 2024, she was honored as part of Rissi Palmer's 'Color Me Country Class of 2024' and featured on NPR’s Mounting Stage, cementing her place as a rising voice in Americana.
