It is bittersweet that our time in Johnstown has come to an end. We would like to once again thank our customers, staff, vendors and BBQ fans across the state for making us one of Ohio’s best restaurant destinations. We realize that America does not run on mammoth corporations or alien technologies, it operates on the backbone of small businesses like ours that employ 15-20 local people. We are deeply indebted to the 100+ individuals that have worked for us over the past 15 years, words cannot express how much your dedication has meant to our success.

We continue to actively scout new locations for our concept and we will have more information once we find the perfect spot. In closing we would like to share this photo from our first day, March 10, 2007 of a true Genius and the best opening staff ever assembled. We hope to see you all again real soon!

It is with extreme sadness that we are forced to announce the discontinuation of our BBQ operation in
Johnstown. After 15 years our landlord refused to negotiate a new lease and has decided to sell the
property to a 3rd party. We are attempting to find a new location that may be as close as Utica or Sunbury
or possibly as distant as the Hocking Hills area
Our mission since day one was to provide an excellent meal at a fair price with a smile, We are very
disappointed to leave a huge void for a healthy alternative in town but this decision is due to
circumstances beyond our immediate control. We would like to thank our dedicated staff, the entire
Johnstown community, our corporate customers, countless brides, graduates and our fans throughout
the great state of Ohio and beyond.

Due to extreme protein costs and unprecedented inflation Route 62 BBQ will be closing until further notice. It has been a pleasure to serve the community for the past 15 years and greatly appreciate the support our customers have shown during our time in Johnstown.
