Our Schools Out For The Summer party was a huge success!
We started planning this event weeks ago by offering 1/2 price ice cream and discounted hot dogs for all schools aged children to kick off their summer.
Thanks to one very generous, kind hearted little 7 year old girl (Callie Licastro) today blossomed into something much bigger than we could have ever imagined.
Callie decided to call us and donate $30 for any child that would show up today without money so they too could have a sweet treat. Her kind deed touched so many individuals that almost immediately we started getting calls from people wanting to match her donation.
Today, we were able to serve 75 very grateful children a free lunch (a hot dog, cup of ice cream, bag of potatoe chips and a bottle of water)
I wish everyone that donated could have been here to see all the big smiles on their faces and hear all the thanks you’s!
So many people get caught up with all the negative things being reported in Johnstown but I’m here to tell you that the good most definitely outweighs the bad. We are proud of our business, we are grateful for those that support us and we have some truly amazing children in our neighborhood that we love to give back to.
Today taught Callie a valuable lesson of how one small kind act can turn into something so much bigger. I think that we all need reminded of that sometimes.

Today was also a reminder that as a business owner, sometimes it’s more important to fill our hearts over filling our pockets.
