What a day, 😊😊 we sold out of the Sea Bass off the Australian Coastline long before 3pm today. We ordered another batch for Saturday. We also have something very special to go along with every Po Boy purchase tomorrow. Two of our favorite Mudbug friends gifted us the opportunity to make Saturday special for everyone. With the purchase of any Po Boy you will receive a free dessert of your choice while supplies last. Limit 3 per order. We will have banana bread pudding, Pink Champagne cupcakes, Chocolate Orange Cake, Cobblers, and Banana Cake with caramel and banana buttercream. What a wonderful gift of love. Happy Thursday, do you know what is in Lake Pontchartrain? It's a mix of everything like trout, gators and crabs. Pontchartrain sauce is no different. For our fresh fish special Chef Chris is currently working on a batch of Pontchartrain sauce with shrimp, crawfish and crab. Oh, this sauce is one of my favorites. Its made with butter, heavy cream and of course Madeira wine. My goodness if you haven't tried Pontchartrain sauce here is your chance. We are serving it over Sea Bass off of the Australian Coastline. Chef Chris is also whipping up a batch of crawfish bisque topped with fried leeks. Because Chef Chris is bagging pots and pans around so am I, for dessert I've whipped up a Cherry Cobbler, Blackberry Peach Cobbler, Chocolate Orange Cake, White Chocolate Bread Pudding and Banana Cake with caramel topped with a banana buttercream. Oh yeah, we are bringing the A game for Friday. Hours Friday 11-7pm 😍😍😍

Our Business has been struggling like so many of our fellow businesses. FIFA didn’t deliver more sales and more importantly a lot of us were fighting to get there. It was an illusion of financial growth that failed to impact most of the kcmo community. Restaurants were instructed to tax patrons an auto gratuity for people visiting our city that in their country it’s not customary to tip. We never profiled our guests. But I’m certain that irritated people in our community and as the social media grew on the message was made clear boycott restaurants. I imagine people feared being stuck in traffic and long lines. We unfortunately didn’t get the opportunity to be that busy. Today is an opportunity to to be real and not hide our little world as a small business. Since February 2025 our sales have been down 15-30%. It’s time to understand we are not the anomaly. We are just willing to say what all the small businesses in our country want you to hear.

Our Gulf Coast Redfish Po Boy is on special Thursday, it comes with your choice of fries or slaw. Cajun dusted Redfish over lemon pepper slaw topped with Cajun dusted shrimp and a smoked tomato Beurre Blanc. It’s blackberry and peach season and I was able to get some of the juiciest batches I’ve seen in a while. Thanks to a couple Mudbug friends we were able to get blackberries from Fahrmeier Farms in Lexington, Mo. and peaches from Schreiman Orchard in Waverly, Mo. I made a blackberry and peach cobbler for dinner and omg❣️The blackberries are so juicy and sweet and the peaches are perfect. This is one of my grandma’s recipes and is one of my favorites.
I’m planning to make about 10 of these tomorrow if you would like to get one of these cobblers place your order on our website for pickup this week.

We are also starting a new four week cycle for our meals Togo, for pickup this week. Checkout the new menu and get your orders in by Monday .

We are making a fresh batch this morning serving them over lemon pepper slaw, Cajun dusted shrimp and finished with a stone ground mustard remoulade. We have a few salads as well. Happy Thursday, we miss you all and hope you will join us for lunch or dinner on Friday. We have an awesome special Cajun dusted Scarlet Snapper topped with my absolute favorite sauce Crawfish Florentine. We will have several dessert options as well. Orange cake with orange buttercream, chocolate cake with a blackberry buttercream and filling, brownie cups and a few slices of Apple Bourbon pecan pie with a caramel drizzle.
