Community Spotlight: RUDY CHAVEZ (fave Corazón ♥️ cafecito Horchata Latte)
Born in 1986 in Kansas City, Rudy Chavez .03xx was raised in the historic Hispanic Westside community by his grandmother, Margaret Chavez, the unwavering foundation of his life. Facing significant adversity during his adolescence, Rudy chose to forge a new path by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps shortly after the events of the September 11 attacks.
Rudy served two enlistments in the Marines, completing multiple combat tours in Afghanistan as a Squad Leader with 1st Battalion, 5th Marines (Alpha Company) and 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines (Kilo Company). Following an honorable discharge, he joined the Kansas City Police Department, where he worked to combat drugs and reduce violence in Northeast Kansas City. He later transitioned into Executive Protection and Private Military Contracting, providing security for high-profile clients.
In 2012, Rudy reignited his passion for martial arts and began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Competing across the country, he earned his purple belt while embracing the discipline and relentless pursuit of self-improvement that the sport demands. His journey in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu naturally evolved into Mixed Martial Arts, where he found not only competition but also mentorship, discipline, resilience, and life-changing lessons.
Today, Rudy Chavez is dedicated to giving back to his community by sharing the knowledge, discipline, and values instilled in him by his mentors—with the mission of inspiring and positively impacting the lives of others.
Rudy trains with our owner Curtis Herrera and at and will be fighting an FAC MMA battle at Cable Dahmer Arena this Saturday, May 2. Come out and support Rudy and all the other bad asses fighting this weekend.

Join us in celebrating Alejandra Villalobos 💛
A community healer, space holder, and guide whose work lives at the intersection of leadership and intentional healing.

For Alejandra, this isn’t just work - it’s a calling. With roots in ancestry and purpose, she creates spaces where people can release, reconnect, and step back into alignment.

Her work centers generational healing and reminds us that legacy is the love, wisdom, and medicine we pass down.

Her intention is simple and powerful: that you leave feeling lighter, loved, and connected to your own inner medicine.

“Community is medicine.” And here in Kansas City, she embodies that every day.

Her message to us:
Lead with love. Protect your energy. Be present. And remember, you are not stuck.

“Cuando nos vamos, lo que queda es lo que dimos.”
“When we leave, what remains is what we gave.”

Happy Birthday, Alejandra ✨
