Today is the first day of spring (even though in KC it feels like it could be the first day of summer, and on Monday it felt like the middle of winter)!

As we in KC have seemingly experienced multiple seasons in less than a week, we want to highlight a tea that is great to have in any season!

Our Special Reserve Green Tea is indeed a special tea. Many factors set this tea apart from traditional green teas, from its origin on what was an abandoned tea farm in the southern Fujian Mountains, to it being comprised of leaves from the elegant Mei Zhan and Huang Dan tea plants, as well as its unique flavor notes of a smooth and subtle buttery undertone with an inherent light and naturally sweet finish. We have a new tea that we are super excited about! Our smooth, delicate, and flavorful Jin Xuan Red Tea was harvested this spring (first flush) from organically-grown Jin Xuan tea cultivars, which grow at an elevation of approximately 4,300 feet in southern Fujian. The Jin Xuan cultivars are also used to make our Oriental Beauty Wu-Long tea. Both of these outstanding teas are available in the shop and online at shangtea.com.

Our Blue Series Kung Fu Cup Set sale continues! The design on sale this month is our Cowboy Flute Song, which was inspired by a famous Chinese animated film done in ink wash style that is about a boy who fell asleep and had a dream that he lost his water buffalo. Our Blue Series Kung Fu Cup Sets were personally designed by Shang and were hand-made in the Eastern Jade Porcelain Studio, which is ran by Shang’s friend, Mr. Zheng. Each porcelain set comes with a cup that holds approximately 11 ounces, an infuser/filter, and a lid, which are all dishwasher safe.

We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! As we get into the holiday season, we want to let you know about a couple of gift ideas for the tea drinkers on your list (including yourself!) - our Holiday Gift Set and the Shang Tea Sampler Set.
