Well, it is progress. There are just not enough hours in the day and with the abundance of rain, I am glad we are as far as we are. The raised beds and dirt will be ordered soon and assembled so we will get done what we can!! I might even post some pictures over the summer.
It has been a very memorable school year and I wish I was more tech savvy to do a reel of highlights, but we will make new memories next year!
We wish you a wonderful summer!!

When your littles ask you to make cheesecake, you make cheesecake. These beautiful smiles are very helpful when it comes to making menu suggestions! It just so happened that we had all the ingredients to make it and it helped us use up some extra cream cheese. It was also a special treat for the seniors!
Have a great evening!!

One of the requests from our seniors for their last week on the menu was Buffalo chicken mac and cheese, and it was delicious! We dredge the chicken strips in a mixture of Frank's, ranch dressing, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. We crisped them up, chunked them up, and drizzled more sauce on top. Winner!!
And another item that we had today to serve with the salads was a fresh baked croissant. It was a sample that we received from one of our brokers and is a keeper also!
Have a great evening!!

Thank you to all who are new followers!!!
Here is a pic of the brownies after they are out of the oven, and today after they are cut. We get 40 squares out of each pan. For all of our school peeps- no, these are not an ala carte item. They are just purchased by groups in the school. 😀
Also, some of the items we have had to use things up- By far the most popular was the crunch wrap supreme, school style. So much so that we might make a version for the menu next year. Also, we had a few more porks in the freezer for some pulled pork, we made baked meatball subs, taco dip with chips, and apple crisp.
For this month's menus, we focused on all the student's favorite meals. We also asked for input from the seniors for their last week next week and they pretty much make the main entrees for the menu.
We will post some more next week!
Enjoy the sunshine!!

Today is lunch hero day. What a great day, other than the drab weather. So many well wishes from this wonderful staff and students. And Mr. Welly brought the band TO the kitchen to serenade us with a beautiful song, instruments and all!! Special drawings from our kindergarten students (❤❤❤❤❤❤), smash tacos for lunch (you know, because they "smash it"- lol).
Oh, and one useless piece of information- do you know that they still make those square cakes in the freezer section? Pepperidge farm? They are less than $5 and still delicious. Who knew?
Have a great weekend and thank you to an AMAZING group of ladies!

Happy Monday.
One thing about being in a smaller school is the relationships that you have with the students. One of the things that always makes me smile is when they compliment a meal and make suggestions. At all grade levels!
So this week for High school, instead of the salad/soup/sandwich, we are having another bowl- they go over very well. Is it as good and the real thing?? Nah- but the sauces are on point. It is nice to be able to order something local from TPC in Tiffin. We had tater tots topped with shredded cheese, chicken chunks, and coleslaw. We didn't sauce the chunks but gave the choice of 3. The BBQ definitely won and it was definitely well received.
22 more days to go. Not that we're counting.
Have a great evening.

Thank you to our student athletes; Mr. Lozier and some of the football players and volleyball players!!! Thank you to Mr. Harvey for moving all of the stone for us!! It is all moved so the building will begin. Installing a border and then laying the fabric and stone to the length of the building. Very exciting!!!
Oh and the last picture is some smiles given to us from nature (they are the tops of our peppers).
Have a wonderful evening!

HAPPY NATIONAL GARDENING DAY!! I wish we had more sunshine, but here are some pics of lunch today. Elementary had shaped tops on their sandwiches and the vegetable choices were garden salad (it had spinach and kale in it and the littles ate it up- probably because they didn't know :-) ). The kale chips were very tasty.
Our salad of the week is also full of vegetables and we had fresh fruit cups also.
Have a great night and maybe we will be able to get some pics on of the garden today!!

I wasn't planning on a post today, however, I felt the need to share what I walked into this morning. I was out of the building on Friday, and the last time I was out, there was no Tom-foolery on behalf of this department of Shenanigans, so I was sure there might be something while I was out this time.
So they covered my board and my door and window, ok. Then I opened my office door. Shock and AWE. Every inch of my very large office was covered. THE ENTIRE THING!!!
My flock- I am still speechless.....................
