One year ago today
things got a little wild in the best way!

The First Annual Big Island Hot Dog Eating Contest brought out the competitors, the crowd, and a whole lot of unforgettable moments. What started as a fun idea turned into something way bigger than we expected—and that’s all because of this incredible community. Every person who showed up, cheered, laughed, competed, and supported us
you made that day what it was!

We’ve been thinking about it a lot lately
 and we gotta ask—

Do we run it back this summer?
Bigger? Better? Even more on the line?

Drop a comment and let us know what YOU think. Because if we do this again
 we’re going all in!

Who’s ready to GET TOASTY?!

🚹 OUR LAST FRIDAY 🚹

It’s hard to believe, but today marks our final $5 Friday here at Safeway after three incredible years.

This spot has been more than just a place to serve food—it’s where we’ve built relationships, shared laughs, and gotten to know so many of you who’ve become part of our Toasty Dogs Ohana. Your support over the years has truly meant everything to us and played a huge role in shaping who we are today.

While we’ll be taking a step back from our regular Fridays here, this isn’t goodbye forever. You may still catch us popping up on Sundays or special weekends from time to time. But for today, we’d love to see you one more time—whether you’re stopping by for your favorite dog or just coming through to talk story. We’ll be here until 2pm or until we sell out.

From the bottom of our hearts, mahalo for all the aloha you’ve shown us over the years. We hope to see you today.

That’s a wrap.

Today was something special. Seeing so many familiar faces come through, sharing stories, laughs, and hot dogs one more time at CafĂ© 100 meant more to us than we can truly put into words. What started as just another stop on our journey turned into something so much bigger—real connections, real friendships, and a place that felt like home.

To every single person who stopped by today, and to everyone who supported us over the past year and a half
mahalo from the bottom of our hearts! You didn’t just support a food truck—you became part of our Toasty Dogs ‘Ohana. Your continued love and support has carried us every step of the way, and we’ll never forget it.

A very special mahalo to Mari and the entire Café 100 Ohana for welcoming us with open arms and treating us like family from day one. Your kindness, generosity, and support will always stay with us.

This chapter may be coming to a close, but the story is far from over. We’re excited for what’s ahead, but we’ll always carry these memories with us.

With so much gratitude and aloha—mahalo nui loa!

🌭 3 YEARS OF TOASTY DOGS — LET’S CELEBRATE TOGETHER 🌭

Today marks three years since we sold our very first hot dog

Three Years of Toasty Dogs – A Grateful Heart & A Bittersweet Celebration

This Thursday, March 19th marks three years since we sold our very first hot dog
and what a journey it’s been. What started as a simple idea has grown into something far greater than we ever imagined. Along the way, we’ve met incredible people, built real relationships, and created something that feels bigger than just a food truck. Toasty Dogs has truly become ‘ohana—and every one of you is a part of it.

From day one to now, your support has meant everything. Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or just recently stopped by, you’ve helped shape this journey in ways we’ll never forget. We are beyond grateful to serve this amazing community.

This Thursday will also be our final Thursday at CafĂ© 100. Huge mahalo to Mari and the CafĂ© 100 ‘ohana for giving us a place to grow and connect with so many amazing customers—we’ll truly miss it!

Come celebrate with us one last time at CafĂ© 100 from 10 AM–2 PM. We’ll be giving away a free hot dog to the first 100 people (limit one per person) as our way of saying thank you.

Toasty Dogs isn’t going anywhere—we’ll still be around for special events, private parties, and select weekends. But this Thursday is about celebrating the past three years and sharing one more unforgettable day together. We hope to see you there!

Mahalo nui loa! ❀

Today we’re back at our Thursday home at CafĂ© 100 and we’d love to see some familiar faces stopping by for a delicious gourmet Toasty Dog. This spot has been a big part of our journey, and days like today remind us how grateful we are for everyone who has taken the time to swing by, grab a hot dog, share a laugh, and support what we’ve built here in Hilo.

There’s a little bit of bittersweet news though — today marks our second to last Thursday at CafĂ© 100, and next Thursday, March 19, will be a special one. It will be 3 years since we sold our very first hot dog, and it will also be our final Thursday serving here. We’d love for you to come celebrate with us over the next two Thursdays, enjoy one of the best gourmet hot dogs on the island, and help us send this chapter off the right way. We truly appreciate every one of you who has supported Toasty Dogs along the way! Aloha!

Our weekly schedule is up and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone around Hilo again! You can find “Ed”, the Toasty Dogs truck, at our usual spots this Thursday and Sunday, serving up the gourmet hot dogs you know and love. We’ll be away on Friday for a private event, but we’ll be right back rolling into the weekend ready to fire things up and take care of all those cravings!

With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, we’re feeling a little extra lucky this month. Swing by the truck, get toasty, and treat yourself to one of the best gourmet hot dogs on the island while you’re at it. Don’t forget to grab one of our limited March / St. Patrick’s Day Toasty Dogs stickers while supplies last—our collectors know they disappear fast! Great food, fun specials, and a little bit of island luck waiting for you at the truck! Aloha!

The new Toasty Dogs schedule for the week is officially up, and while a few things have shifted while we’ve been away, we’re excited to roll into the first weekend of March and reconnect with everyone in the Hilo community. With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, we figured it’s the perfect time to lean into a little extra luck—because sometimes the best kind of luck is stumbling upon a seriously good hot dog when you’re out running errands, heading to lunch from the office, or cruising through town. Keep an eye out for the green, the clovers, and maybe even a leprechaun hat
because if you follow the signs, it might just lead you straight to a Toasty Dog and a lucky bite that makes your day a whole lot better. We can’t wait to see familiar faces and welcome a few new ones this week—Hilo, let’s get lucky!🍀

03/01/2026

It’s a perfect Aloha Sunday here in Hilo, and we’re kicking off the very first day of March the only way we know how — serving up some of the best gourmet hot dogs on the island at Safeway in Hilo from 11 AM to 3 PM, or until we sell out. We’ve missed seeing everyone this week, and today feels like the ideal day to reconnect with our amazing community, share some good food, and spread a little weekend joy. If you’ve been craving a Toasty Dogs lunch or simply want to start the new month with something delicious, we’d love to see you.

And because March deserves to start with something special, our March collectible stickers are officially available for a limited time. We know how many of you have been collecting them, and this one is a fun addition to the lineup. Swing by, grab a hot dog, pick up your sticker, and help us welcome in a brand-new month with great food and great company. We can’t wait to see you at Safeway and celebrate the start of March together. Aloha!

02/27/2026

We’re officially back at our Friday home at Safeway Hilo today, serving from 10 AM to 2 PM — or until we sell out, whichever comes first. It’s been a little while since we’ve rolled into this spot, and we’ve truly missed the familiar faces, the quick catch-ups, and the energy our customers bring with them every single week. Toasty Dogs has had a lot happening behind the scenes lately, and while we’re excited to share some big announcements soon, today is all about reconnecting with the people who have supported us from day one.

If you’ve been craving a return visit or waiting for the perfect chance to stop by, today’s the day. Swing down, grab one of the best gourmet hot dogs on the island, say aloha, and help us kick off this next chapter with that unbeatable Hilo spirit. We can’t wait to see you, serve you, and share what we’ve been working on. Get ready — the Toasty family is back at Safeway, and we’re fired up for an amazing Friday!
