A super easy, no spread, no chill sugar cookie recipe! Perfect for holiday baking with the kids🎅🏻
Ingredients:
1 cups or 2 sticks of room temp butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp flavoring/extract (vanilla, almond, etc)
1 large egg
3 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
Directions:
🎄Cream together your room temperature butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
🎁 Add in your egg and flavoring (I personally love ShopRite brand imitation vanilla for these)!
🎅🏻 Once combined, add your flour and baking powder and mix with paddle attachment on lowest setting. It will look dry but trust the process! It’ll come together.
🌟 If desired, add in festive colored sprinkles on low speed until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
☃️ Sprinkle powdered sugar on your rolling surface and roll the dough to about 1/3” thickness. Cut with cookie cutters and place 1” apart on cookie sheet.
❄️ Bake on 350° for approximately 12 minutes or until the cookies start to lightly brown on the bottom and no longer look glossy. (Baking times can vary by oven). Let the cookies cool for 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.
Let your cookies cool completely before decorating! To avoid spreading, keep cookie sheets away from the stove while cutting and placing the cookies.
