Colombian coffees are often known for being very dark flavored and, sometimes, even bitter, but that’s definitely not the case with our Colombian specialty coffee from Black Mountain. Our farmer friends down in Colombia at the El Vergel Estates produce some of the smoothest, flavorful, and overall enjoyable cups of coffee we’ve ever had, and we’re really thankful we now have the opportunity to roast one of their most unique specialty coffees that they have ever produced: Black Gold.

Calico Coffee is one of two coffee roasteries in the United States that currently has these one-of-a-kind, barrel aged coffee beans. Black Gold coffee has been aged in whiskey barrels in Colombia that were imported from Breckenridge, Colorado; that barrel aging process infuses natural flavors and aromas from the spirits and charred oak barrels into the beans which creates a distinctively complex flavored coffee that is truly remarkable. With cupping notes of honey, citrus fruit, oak, as well as an incredible smoothness from front to finish, we feel certain you will find Black Gold coffee to be as memorable as we do!

It’s not very often we roast a bucket of coffee beans and have the entire bucket sold an hour later 😳! So we had to roast our second batch yesterday as well, and the way this coffee is selling… all we can say is you should grab a bag while supplies last 😅.

Happy Thursday! This will be the last week that we produce the Pink Patch Blend for 2021! After supplies run out, we will be out of this limited time blend!

You can pick up a bag at Kitt’s Kitchen and Coffee Bar or HyVee in Kearney, Nebraska, or at Mason’s Supermarket in Minden, Nebraska. Funds raised benefit the Forever Pink Foundation and those impacted by breast cancer in our community!
