Omar’s Showbar has a new kitchen and is staffed by the amazing Shannon and her pop up kitchen, Reztaurant! The street tacos are knocked out of the park with just the right of spice accompanied by melted cheese that hangs over the edge of each taco enough to get a tasty cheesy crunch. And if that isn’t isn’t enough they are drizzled with crema. You can choose from her beef or chicken tacos. There’s also an option for Indian (Native American) fry bread tacos as well. While checking out this place you’ve also gotta try her fresh homemade Mexican rice that is absolutely exceptional. If I only had only one bad thing to say about Reztaurant it would be that they’re only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday… however they stay open late on the weekends for late night cravings!

Went to check out a new Cuban restaurant, La Mulata Restuarant, on Lansings South Side and I have to say they don’t disappoint! I ordered their Cuban sandwich and I’m here to tell you it’s the best one I’ve had outside Little Havana in Miami! For $15 you get a massive Cuban sandwich with a side of fries. The two types of pork are absolutely amazing. I’d highly recommend checking them out!

Even though Dave & Buster's isn’t open yet they have already put a bad taste in my mouth with how they run their Capture the Flag event leading up to their grand opening. The rules are very simple… you can only win once and the clue gets posted at 10am. I, as well as other people in Lansing, have been trying to capture the flag the past few days with no luck. However, today’s capture the flag location was at the R.E. olds museum in downtown Lansing. When I got there at just after 10am to try and get the flag I was told that the flag was already taken well before 10am… BEFORE Dave & Busters posted the clue! Even took it upon myself to contact Dave & Busters as to how this happened, they told me that they post the clue earlier than 10am… that it was posted at 9:45am, so people had a 15 minute head start on those that play by Dave & Busters “so called” rules.
I have to say, if this is the way Dave & Busters acts and runs and rigs their games then I would highly suggest people steer clear of this corporate dishonesty! There are far better places to spend money on games and food. I would highly recommend Spare Time or Zap Zone XL way before Dave & Busters! Give your money to local businesses that aren’t trying to pull something shady.

Ok, I have lived in lansing for 45 years and have never been to Olympic Broil until today and I have to say, I’m sorry that I have waited so long. The staff there upon hearing that I have never been there in my life took really good care of me. I ordered a double cheese burger combo with a root beer. The only thing I didn’t care for were the French fries however, the burger was absolutely delicious! The lady also gave me a small sample of the fried chicken that I will definitely go back for! She also gave me a sample of the coney sauce… it was interesting but I prefer Detroit or Flint style sauce. I will definitely be going back here again, hopefully some time soon because I definitely don’t want wait another 45 years.

I have been a little negligent in my reviews… I have been to Ohana several times over the past few weeks and have yet to write a review… until now. Ohana is located on the west side of Lansing off of Saginaw Hwy. in the old Outback Steakhouse. They are an all you can eat sushi restaurant that offers more all your can eat choices than just sushi. You order off a dry erase menu and they bring you what you selected from the menu. Their appetizers are absolutely amazing and their sushi is on the same level as other sushi restaurants around the Lansing area. Aside from the sushi rolls, the orders are small however, you can reorder things you liked multiple times. The appetizers I ordered: shrimp tempura, moneybags (Japanese version of Crab Rangoon), yakitiri dishes (shrimp, beef, and chicken), teriyaki (shrimp, beef, and chicken), rock shrimp, chicken katsu, shumi, gyoza, and green onion pancake. I also ordered a Mt. Fuji Roll, a Tiger Roll, a Tuna Hand Roll, and 3 pieces of sushi (Tuna, White Tuna, and Yellowtail). Everything I ordered came out fresh and well made. The taste was absolutely phenomenal. The wait staff there is also friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. The price is also great… for lunch it’s only $16.99 and dinner, which has a slightly larger menu, is $29.99. I would definitely recommend going there but when you do, be sure to bring an appetite because the food there is absolutely worth it!!!
