The historic hosiery mill of Kingsport played a major role in shaping the community and local economy for generations. During the height of the textile and hosiery industry, the mills became known for employing large numbers of women from the surrounding area, providing steady jobs and helping support countless families throughout the region. The work done inside these mills became an important part of Kingsport’s history and industrial identity.

Today, that history continues to inspire new appreciation for historic architecture, craftsmanship, and preservation projects across the country.

In Williamsport, developer Tim Butters and his wife Sandra , owners of City Hall Grand Hotel, are bringing new life to another historic property by transforming the landmark building into an upscale boutique hotel. The project focuses on preserving historic character while creating a luxury destination with modern amenities and unique design.

Developer HOSIERY MILL VENTURES will be starting construction on the HOSIERY MILL HOTEL, a sixty-room boutique hotel in Kingsport.
HMH will include a restaurant/bar and event space.
