Locally owned and managed 😎 The historic complex known as Frisbees Market and Cap’n Simeon’s Galley has been entirely renovated with four new businesses filling the existing

structures. The new owners have all worked together on successful Seacoast ventures in the past. Henry Ares, former co-owner of AJ’s Wood Grill Pizza in Kittery, former Executive Chef at Anneke Jans and York River Landing, Kittery resident

2. Eides Ares, former co-owner and chef at AJ’s Wood Grill Pizza, former Chef at Victory and Wentworth Country Club, Kittery resident

3. Donna Ryan, a founding partner and operator of Anneke Jans (sold in 2010), founder of AJ’s Wood Grill Pizza (sold to Ares family in 2013), developing partner of 233 Vaughn Street Complex in Portsmouth, Kittery resident

4. Ann Kendall, retired schoolteacher and philanthropist, Kittery Point resident

5. Carla Goodknight, founder of CJ Architects in Portsmouth, designed Shepard’s Cove in Kittery and 233 Vaughn Street in Portsmouth

The project features an outdoor lobster shack, bar and grill called Frisbee's Wharf. The old Frisbee’s Market has been transformed into a two-story restaurant called Bistro 1828, which features a roof-deck bar called the Ski Club. The restaurant formerly known, as Cap’n Simeon’s is now The View at Pepperrell Cove: two floors of event space with sweeping ocean views for receptions and gatherings. Chef Eides Area provides creative catering. The small store on the site is Provisions offering coffee, newspapers, baked goods, and essentials like milk, bread, eggs, wine and beer. Stop by the ice cream window in season! Dock available for boaters...

Basking shark sighting in Kittery Point! Kittery Harbormaster
John Brosnihan captured this video on 5/29. He said the shark was about 20 feet long.

Basking sharks can get very large, but they feed on plankton and are generally not a threat to humans…

An unusual occurrence much like the whales we saw in Pepperrell Cove two years ago!
