Yesterday, Unhinged Coffee & Co officially cut the ribbon on our space in Knightdale. And honestly, we don’t even know where to begin.

Standing there looking out at the crowd that showed up to celebrate was one of the most emotional moments of our lives. We saw our community standing there cheering us on the way they have from the very beginning. Familiar face after familiar face. And we felt so, so beyond loved.

When we started this, we set out to create a third space. The one we’d all been craving. A place where vulnerability is welcomed, where mental health conversations are normalized, where you can walk in on your worst day and still feel like you belong. A space that reminds people life is chaotic and it’s okay to not be okay. Yesterday felt like proof it’s real.

We truly could not have done any of this without each and every single one of you.

To Knightdale as a whole, thank you. From the Public Works team that keeps this gorgeous town looking the way it does, to our Mayor Jessica Day for being a part of our special day, to our incredible Knightdale PD who, when I called last minute realizing just how many of you amazing people had shown up, SHOWED UP right back. They came out to help with traffic and slow drivers down for safety, no questions asked. That kind of response doesn’t happen everywhere. It happens here in our amazing town that we are so blessed to be a part of.

To our team, who cranked out drinks all day with the kind of heart and hustle that makes this whole thing work. We see you. If we don’t say it enough, THANK YOU!

To every vendor and every food truck who turned a ribbon cutting into a block party. You brought your craft to our parking lot and made it what it was.

To every single person standing in that crowd. Every regular. Every first-timer. Every friend who’s been here since the cart days. Every neighbor who didn’t have to take us in and did anyway. You are the reason any of this exists.

We’ve always said our job is to keep showing up, keep doing the work, and keep being grateful out loud. Yesterday was us being grateful out loud.

So hold on tight, Knightdale…. We’re just getting started. 🧡 👀

On Saturday, May 23 we are hosting Books & Coffee with author Julia Passini, and we could not be more excited about this one.

Julia is joining us to read from her novel “Living Through the Epilogue”. After the reading, stick around for a casual Q&A and a book signing.

Here is how the day runs:
☕ 10 AM doors open and our bookish vendors set up shop
Featuring: .co

📖 10:30 AM Julia’s reading, followed by Q&A and signing

🌻 Bookish vendors all day till 2PM.

Habibti Bookshop will be running a Blind Date with a Book
And because every good event deserves a good drink, we are pouring Maya’s Usual, a sweet caramel mocha latte inspired by a character from the book. A creative mind with a big heart, and a bigger sense of adventure.

It’s official, Knightdale. 🧡

Friday, May 22 we are cutting the ribbon on Unhinged Coffee & Co, and we are not doing it quietly.

Here’s the rundown:
☕ 7 AM Food Truck will be serving breakfast until they sell out (so do not sleep on this, literally)

🌻 9 AM to 2 PM the vendor block party takes over, packed with local makers and small businesses!

✂️ 11 AM the official ribbon cutting with Mayor Jessica Day, the part where we are getting a little emotional about.

We have been dreaming about the Unhinged Coffee & Co space for a long time. A third space in Knightdale where you can show up exactly as you are, on your best day or your messiest one, and find good coffee and your people waiting.

Friday it all becomes so real!
Bring a friend. Bring your group chat. Bring the one who needs to get out of the house and help us celebrate this exciting day!

In case it wasn’t clear, opening a brick and mortar coffee shop doesn’t mean we are stepping away from the mobile life. We started with a cart going to our community. That’s not something we intend to leave behind.

If anything, we doubled down.
The Unhinged Trailer is officially parked at Hartwell Raleigh. 7 days a week. Your everyday Raleigh coffee solution starts now.
We also still have our two event carts! Still rolling. Still showing up for weddings, office parties, festivals, markets, and whatever random Tuesday goat yoga your neighborhood association is throwing.

The Knightdale shop? Still slinging caffeine, comfort, community, and chaos. 7 days a week!

So if anyone tried to tell you Unhinged having a brick & mortar means the end of the mobile life, that’s news to us. ☕💁🏼‍♂️
