Hey everyone, just wanted to pass on that we will be easing back into the shop later this week. We still have somethings to take care of before we jump fully back into a full schedule. We will be open Thursday and Friday in the shop with some crowd favorites and will be at the Kokomo Farmers Market on Saturday!

We also want to continue to send out our gratitude to everyone who has liked, shared, commented, reached out and donated during this difficult time. We appreciate you more than you’ll ever know and the love and support has been so overwhelming. We thank you and love you guys!

We look forward to returning to the shop and seeing everyone! ❤️

We wanted to give everyone a little update. ❤️

We are doing okay and taking things one day at a time. Healing is a process, and we know that time is a big part of that process.

Physically, the kids are doing okay. Lukas has mentioned a few times that he has felt a little dizzy, so we are continuing to keep a close eye on him. Aaliyah’s shoulder seems to be doing a bit better as well! Jimmy is feeling a little better today, but he is still dealing with pain in his head, leg, and side.

I’m still dealing with headaches, side and leg pain, along with a bruised and painful right foot. My right elbow is also pretty bruised and very sore to the touch.

We have been trying our best to rest when we can, but the paperwork, insurance, and everything involved with the vehicle have been a lot to handle on top of everything else.

The physical healing is one thing, but the mental and emotional healing is a whole different journey. We are all looking forward to getting into therapy and having the opportunity to talk through everything we experienced. We know this is something that will take time.

Getting back into a vehicle has been difficult for all of us in different ways. Lukas describes his anxiety as feeling like something is stuck in his throat. His therapist has him doing bubbles while in the car to help others his breathing to help with his anxiety! Seeing flashing lights and hearing sirens have been big triggers for us. There has been a few times in the car where we have been scared and tense with the ways other people round us are driving!! I have a severe fear of another accident happening!

Today has been a decent day. We are trying to celebrate the small wins, even something as simple as making it through a whole day without tears feels like progress right now.

Thank you all for continuing to check on us, pray for us, support us, and show us so much kindness. It means more than we could ever put into words. ❤️

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to heal. Please if you feel it in your heart to donate to help us please do! If you can’t, just simply sharing it to get it out there more will help!

On their way home from the Howard County Fair, the owners of Mama Karen’s—… Tonya Stephenson needs your support for Support Mama Karen’s Family After Accident

Another small update: Jimmy and I ended up back in the emergency room last night. Jimmy began showing signs of a concussion, and my headache still wouldn’t go away. I also started experiencing additional concussion symptoms. We have now both been officially diagnosed with concussions. Jimmy’s right side nasal cavity is also collapsed.

We’re taking things one day at a time and praying for healing physically, mentally, and emotionally. We would truly appreciate your continued prayers for our entire family, especially for our children as they try to process everything they’ve been through.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out, checked on us, prayed for us, and supported us. It means more than you’ll ever know.

To our amazing customers,

The last few days have been some of the hardest of our lives, and we are still trying to understand it all!

As many of you know, our family was involved in a horrific rollover accident! In a matter of seconds, everything changed. Watching our children hanging upside down, terrified and screaming for their lives, is something no parent should ever have to experience! It’s a moment that will stay with us forever!

By the grace of God, we all walked away alive! That is a miracle we will never take for granted. While our injuries are healing, the mental, emotional, and physical toll has been much harder than we ever imagined!

As much as we wish we could step away from work to process everything and just spend time together as a family, the reality is that we simply can’t afford to! Small business owners don’t have paid time off, so we’re doing our best to keep showing up, even on the days when our hearts feel heavy!

If you happen to see us and we don’t seem like our usual bubbly, smiling selves, please know it’s not because we don’t appreciate you! We’re just trying to navigate one of the most difficult seasons of our lives while continuing to provide for our family!

If there’s one thing we could ask from our community, it’s your continued support! Every order you place, every post you share, every recommendation, every prayer, and every kind word truly makes a difference! Your support doesn’t just help our business, it helps our family continue moving forward!

Our greatest wish right now is that, with time, we’ll be able to take a day to simply breathe, hold our kids a little tighter, make new memories, and be thankful for the miracle that we’re all still here!

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for loving, supporting, and believing in our small business. We are so incredibly grateful for each and every one of you!❤️

Hey everyone. Just a quick update.

First, we want to say thank you for the over pouring amount of love and support everyone has shown to us so far during this difficult time. It literally means the world to us❤️

Second, we are all up right and doing pretty well considering the circumstances of last night’s accident. We all have some sort of bumps, bruises, minor cuts/scrapes and seat belt burns. Now that the adrenaline has wore off, the aches and pains are now setting in for all of us. Right now it’s nothing we can’t handle but we were told to give it a few days just to make sure. Most importantly the kids are doing as well as they can given the situation. They are tough kids💪

Third, we will be at the Howard County Fair this evening serving up our baked goods! Yes, we know what just happened last night but unfortunately the world doesn’t stop. So, if you’re out and about at the fair, swing by the tennis building to say hi!

Lastly, here are some photos of our car now that it’s daylight. We stopped early this morning to clean out our property and get things ready for insurance.

We love you guys❤️

🚨PSA🚨

This evening we were involved in a roll over accident coming back into town from the Howard County Fair. There was a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign and it resulted in our car being hit on the rear passenger side. Our vehicle then rolled and it then slide on its top for roughly 500 feet. All four of us were in the car (myself, Kelsey, Lukas, Aaliyah).

While we were sliding upside down, we could see large amounts of sparks flying, glass breaking as well as metal/plastic breaking. Our car finally came to a stop and deafening sound of the kids frantically crying was the only thing that could be heard. Our main goal was to get everyone out of the car, which we did. Bystanders/witnesses were there to check on us and call 911. Our car is totaled. Air bags deployed, the sides are grinded down and the roof collapsed.

We were all taken by two ambulances to St. Vincent Hospital and at the time of this post (1:20am) we are still here. All of us are under going observation, multiple tests, x-rays and ct scans.

The immediate results are we are all going to be fine other than, bumps, bruises, some small burns/rashes and lots of soreness.

It’s an absolute miracle that we all walked away from this very traumatic incident. We were definitely being watched over as this could’ve very easily ended with a loss of life or several losses of life.

We are extremely shaken up and distraught at this current time but wanted to let all of our friends and supporters know what was going on!

Also, thank you to everyone who stopped and checked on us and helped us at the scene. We are forever grateful for you! ❤️

We will update as soon as we have more info!

*UPDATE*

We have all been cleared and released from the hospital as of 4am.
