Every time friends or family from my hometown come to visit, I get the chance to show them my new life and the place I now call home. Every single time, I fall even more in love with the Cajun culture.

I hope y'all know how special this community really is. The kindness, the food, the traditions, and the people make this place one of a kind.

Thank y'all for welcoming me with open arms and for sharing this beautiful culture with my family and friends. We truly feel blessed to call Acadiana home. ❤️

Big news! 🤎

We made a decision... our Gumbo Empanada is here to stay! 🎉

It started as a fall and winter special, but over the last few months we've noticed something. So many people visiting Lafayette—or stopping by on their way to the airport—wanted to try gumbo before heading home. Watching them take that first bite of our Gumbo Empanada and absolutely love it made the decision easy.

If you've had it before, you already know what we're talking about. It's everything you love about homemade gumbo, wrapped in an empanada.

So whether you're a local or just visiting Cajun Country, you can enjoy our Gumbo Empanada every day, all year long.

Who says gumbo is only for cold weather? This is our favorite way to enjoy it in the summer. ☀️🥟

We're open today, and we'd love to celebrate with y'all!
I also want to take a minute to say thank you to everyone working today while the rest of us are enjoying the holiday. If you're a first responder, healthcare worker, military member, or another essential worker, stop by on your lunch break and let us treat you to a FREE Chili Cheese Dog Empanada. It's just our little way of saying thank you for everything you do.

🥟 Must-Try Louisiana Restaurant: The Empanada Guy

Our latest stop on the Louisiana Food Tour brought us to The Empanada Guy in Lafayette, Louisiana.

We had the opportunity to sit down with Luciano Escudero and hear the story behind one of Acadiana’s most unique restaurants. What began with a family recipe from Argentina has grown into a beloved Lafayette destination. Together with his wife, Luciano built The Empanada Guy by combining authentic Argentine flavors with Louisiana’s rich Cajun culture to create what he proudly calls “Cajuntinian” cuisine.

This Sunday, June 28th, we'll be at the Anna Kober Benefit at Cowboys of Lafayette from 10 AM–4 PM.
Many of you know that leukemia is a cause very close to our hearts. 🧡 Shortly after Laura and I got married, she was diagnosed with leukemia. The road that followed was one of the hardest seasons of our lives, but thanks to incredible doctors, family, friends, and an amazing community, Laura is now celebrating 4 years in remission.
Because of that, whenever we have the opportunity to support a family facing a similar battle, we do it without hesitation.
This Sunday, 100% of the proceeds from the empanadas we sell at the event will be donated to help Anna and her family.
Anna is a brave little girl fighting Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and her family is facing a long journey ahead. We know firsthand how much community support can mean during moments like these. 🧡
If you're looking for something to do this weekend, come out and enjoy a day full of live music, food, auctions, activities for the kids, and a great community coming together for a beautiful cause.
Let's show the Kober family they are not walking this road alone.
