First time participating restaurant Bubble Boba Tea/ Boba Thai Cafe tied for first place in the "I'll Be Back Soon" and "I Can't Wait to Tell My Friends" categories, and came in second place in the "Most Generous" and "The Vibe Is Just Right" (tie) categories, as voted by our walking and sampling tour guests on Friday evening. Congratulations!

Boba Thai Cafe has offered to host a monthly gathering for the Downtowners Traditional Book Club "as long as they order something--either food or beverage" which seems to be reasonable in exchange for use of their lovely second floor meeting space.

Book selections for the following six months are:

Feb 19-Daughters of the Bamboo Grove by Barbara Demick

Mar 19-Chocolate Wars by Deborah Cadbury

Apr 16-The Power of the Dog by Thomas Savage

May 21-Slaughter House Five by Kurt Vonnegut

Jun 18-Poverty, by America by Matthew Desmond

Group leader Kerri Johanning notes: I think these books will provide quite a variety of reading and discussions. Some of these books have movies that were made and I think it would be fun to add a movie time to our schedule also if anyone is interested. Thank you for your input and your participation.
