Saddleback Turned 11 and We're Trying Something We've Never Done Before.

Every year, we like to celebrate Saddleback's anniversary in a big way.

This year marks 11 years since we opened our doors in REO Town. Normally, we'd be planning a party, a special menu, or some kind of event to celebrate.

The truth is, we're a little busy.

Between Assembly taking shape in Mason, conducting many interviews trying to find the right team, construction meetings, and being right in the middle of one of the busiest catering seasons we've ever had, we knew we couldn't put together an anniversary celebration that lived up to our standards.
So instead, we decided to create something that represents this moment in our company's history.

The result is our new "The States" #11 shirt.

It's a nod to Saddleback's 11th anniversary, our excitement for the World Cup, and the fact that Christian Pulisic, the face of Mens American soccer wears #11 for AC Milan.

Sometimes things just line up.

Today, we're preparing to open Assembly in Mason while continuing to grow the brands that got us here.

Last year, we renovated the entire space inside our REO Town location and introduced hand scooped ice cream. With a mid June launch, we did not get the full summer to serve ice cream to everyone.

This year is different. We are ready for the entire season and going all in chasing a new scoop record. Today is finally supposed to hit 80 degrees in Lansing, and there is no better time to stop in for ice cream! Don’t miss out.

It’s starting to feel real! We’re picking out the paint and booths!

We’re currently dialing in the right combination of booth fabric, wall color, and finishes for the dining room. (none of these were winners)

We still have some work to do, but we have something really special planned for the interior of Assembly.

Our REO Town location just had its busiest week since June 2024!

Seeing the REO Town community embrace the addition of ice cream has meant a lot to us, and moments like this are a reminder of how lucky we are to be part of this neighborhood.
