Serving an American cuisine for Lunch & Dinner
we also serve a good selection of beers, w**e. The Flying Machine Restaurant combines a unique family setting with great, reasonably priced food in a relaxing environment. You will never feel like you were rushed out to make room for other guests. You can sit back and enjoy your family and friends. Several times each week, The Flying Machine brings local entertainers to their stage to provide our guest with another reason to get out and enjoy life. The Flying Machine's patio is one of few remaining places where you can sit next to the runway and enjoy the airplanes landing and departing at Gwinnett County Airport. FOR PILOTS, you will not find a friendlier relaxed fly-in where you can taxi right up to the patio for a $100 burger but you will have to recheck your weight and balance before take-off.

Well, it’s over.
Last night we ended our final day of business, after 28 years.
We ended with a 50 year surprise anniversary party for our dear friends Bob N Debbie Truex, arranged by their daughter, Lindsay.
We will be liquidating furnishings, artwork, and kitchen equipment during the next couple of days. We even have some food items available, including several gallons of our ranch dressing, that can’t be bought at the grocery store.
EVERYTHING must be out of the building by September 30.
If anyone is interested, you can call the Flying Machine number (770-962-2262). This number will remain active after we are closed. We will also keep our page active. Follow it for any developments.
Thanks for all the years of friendship. We had the greatest customer base there is!

This is a repost from our daughter Amber Darden. We would love to hear your memories from The Flying Machine. Thanks for all the memories you have given us. It was quite a ride.

I would like to make a guest book for my parents and give it to them when the Flying Machine closes. I would have liked to make it a surprise, but I just don’t think there is any possible way to do that and get the feedback I am hoping for. If you have ever visited The Flying Machine and made any fond memories there, please comment below with

1. Your Name
2. Where you are from (so they can see how big of an area they served) if you are willing to share that.
3. Season of life/time you visited (we have had regulars in the past and current ones)
4. Anything else you would like to share.

I will print out the comments and make a book.

The Flying Machine has been a part of my life since my dad bought it when I was in the 5th grade. It was one of my first jobs, my college job, and a whenever I need some extra money job (something I have been thankful for over the years). I am now almost 38, and my kids enjoy visiting the restaurant and pretending they have a job there.

I am thankful for all the people the Flying Machine allowed us to serve and get to know. So many precious relationships made over the years! Customers that feel more like family! I am thankful for the countless nights of listening to my dad sing and watching my kids dance while he played. Listening to him sing never gets old to me. I am thankful for the karaoke nights I had as a kid there and the karaoke nights my kids and their cousins have had there. I am thankful for the beautiful sunsets I have gotten to see there and will miss those big time. I am thankful for all the good food I have ate there and for the hands that prepared and served it (usually one of my sweet parents). Lastly, I am thankful for the purpose it provided for my parents.. Thank You.
