Legend has it that when then owner wanted to start yet another business, his wife said he'd be in the dog house if he did. Sensing a great idea amidst a challenge, he decided to get the family dog involved as the mascot. That seemed to endear her to the idea and thus the Doghaus Brewery was born! Another beautiful summer weekend is here so get out there and enjoy our beautiful nature. Brewer Joel got to Play Hard on the river on his day off.

Get your float on and then stop by for a refreshing brew, perhaps Turbo's Gruit Ale...no hops, light and refreshing, herbal, floral and citrus with sage, lavender, lemon balm, orange and coriander.

NEW BEER ALERT!

Happy 4th and 250th all! We have just released this week our brand new Valkyrie's Vienna Lager! Named for another frequent regular visitor this brew is light toasty with a fairly dry finish. Similar to traditional Maerzens (Oktoberfest Lager), Vienna lagers are typically milder on the malt character and sweetness with a touch more bitterness.

Swing by to try it today....and wait...is that a brand new Beer Log?! Sure is, our two newest brews required a new logbook as the original was used quite a bit as the guest book and we had to skip a lot of pages. Come read all about our brews while sampling them in person.

P.S. please don't burn down the forest with fireworks!

Ask a brewer what their least favorite piece of equipment to maintain is....and probably they'll say the glycol chiller. Critical for keeping fermenting beer at the correct temp...but it seems like sometimes always going sideways.

Beer was cold on Monday and room temp on Tuesday because the fan stopped working. Luckily this time it was just a capacitor that was cheap and easy to replace! And while at it....might as well do after-Spring cleanup of all the cottonwood fluff that likes to clog up the fins!

Fan is fired up now and the beer is back to chilling! See you tomorrow for brews.

We've gained some super loyal fans over the years and we sure appreciate them! Mindy and Tammy are definitely some of our longest running fans.

If you've ever had our Scotch Ale perhaps you remember it as the Wee Terrier Scotch Ale, perhaps you only know it as Mindy's Scotch Ale....or maybe you've seen the name change overtime. Mindy claims the title of biggest fan of our Scotch and had lobbied for years for it to be named after her...and after she permanently demonstrated her loyalty with a Doghaus tattoo we could no longer resist renaming the beer!

Their other favorite brewery is Vertigo Brewing near the Portland, OR area. We hear a lot about how great their beer is and Tammy brought some samples for us to try this weekend. Gotta say that so far their NWIPA is very tasty! We'll have to visit Vertigo sometime.

Maybe we should do a collab or a brew-off to see who Mindy and Tammy's favorite favorite is!

NEW BEER ALERT!

It's a big weekend....Juneteenth, Father's Day, Leavenworth Bike Fest, unofficial Euro Car Drive, sunshine, hiking, floating...World Cup!

Turbo's Gruit Ale is back for it's once-a-year stint. No hops! Local sagebrush, lavender, lemon balm, orange peel, coriander, hyssop, yarrow. Light herbal-floral-citrusy and very refreshing.

The brand new, Tricia's One Ear Up West Coast IPA loaded with Centennial, Simcoe, Mosaic and Strata. 7.2% with a classic lingering bitterness.

The also new Bruce's Block Party Pale Ale, a classic Northwest Pale with Amarillo and Cascade and some Rye in the grist.

And Brewer Joel's favorite....Mindy's Scotch Ale! Malty and caramelly!

Join us for a brew this weekend to beat the heat.

Leavenworth Bike Fest is back this weekend and there's going to be a great beer garden! We were invited to set up a booth alongside several great breweries including: Timberline Brewing, Icicle Brewery, Old Schoolhouse Brewery, Kulshan Brewery and Single Hill Brewing.

Brewer Joel will have a Doghaus tent set up so you can come enjoy the new, debuting at Bike Fest, Tricia's One Ear Up West Coast IPA. It's bold and punchy on flavor with Mosaic, Strata, Simcoe and Centennial hops. Named for one of our regulars who always looks quizzical! Our Busy Bee Wheat Ale will also be available for a light and mild option. Brewer Joel does have to tend the actual brewery, so volunteers will be pouring at the Fest.

So grab you bikes and shred those Ski Hill trails all day then enjoy some refreshing brews in the beer garden while rocking out to great music from Kaid and Beau, 23rd Street, Bandits of the Animal Kingdom, 90's Rewind, and Hell's Belles!

Bruce's Block Party Pale Ale is now on tap! Full of Amarillo hops and a good helping of rye....this beer was made especially in honor of Bruce Wayne the Frenchie and debuted at the annual Leavenworth Block Party hosted by Bruce's family....shout out to Scotty and Sara!

The ever popular Mindy's Scotch Ale is also back on tap.
