🐾 A Life Saved Through Teamwork
On Monday, July 13, Sgt. Travis Sutphin and K9 Justice responded to Tippecanoe County to assist in the search for a missing 68-year-old man living with dementia.
With temperatures nearing 90 degrees and high humidity, the search was especially urgent. The man had been missing for more than seven hours, and multiple agencies, drones, and additional resources were already searching the area.
Using a scent article provided by the family, K9 Justice quickly picked up the trail. Together, Sgt. Sutphin and Justice tracked through hay fields, fence rows, and dense standing corn for approximately one mile before Justice alerted in the cornfield near US 52. Hidden between the rows, the missing man was located alive. Sgt. Sutphin immediately provided him with water and requested medical assistance. The man was evaluated by medics and transported to the hospital.
We are incredibly proud of Sgt. Sutphin and K9 Justice for their professionalism, dedication, and exceptional teamwork. Their skill and commitment made a life-saving difference, and this successful outcome is a reminder of the value of strong partnerships between public safety agencies.
Please join us in recognizing Sgt. Travis Sutphin and K9 Justice for a job exceptionally well done! 💙
