Did you know??

Hibiscus tea is made from the brightly colored flowers (calyx) of the hibiscus plant, providing a refreshing yet tart flavor. In addition to providing antioxidant power, hibiscus tea contains small amounts of potassium, calcium, magnesium and other trace minerals. Hibiscus tea offers antiviral and cardiovascular benefits, mainly due to the antioxidant "anthocyanins." This herbal tea has even been shown to be effective against some strains of bird flu. A study showed hibiscus tea may also help lower blood pressure. Another interesting cardiovascular benefit of this herbal tea is its ability to help decrease LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglyceride levels. This herbal tea can also be easily blended with other ingredients in order to boost vitamin and mineral intake. For example, it can be blended with Chrysanthemum and Rose Hips to boost potassium, iron and Vitamin C intake (custom blend shown bottom).

Note: Avoid drinking hibiscus tea if you take the diuretic medication hydrochlorothiazide because the two may negatively interact. Hibiscus tea may also interfere with the effects of aspirin, and health professionals recommend they be taken 3–4 hours apart. Check with your physician to verify what is best for you

So, what is in Purely Herbal Tea's Bath and Body Oil? It is a blend of Grapeseed, Jojoba, and Coconut oils and infused with Vitamin E oil. This product will leave your skin feeling hydrated and have it glowing, but doesn't leave a sticky or greasy feel like so many other products out there, and it doesn't clog your pores. You can either add a couple tablespoons of the oil to your bath water (BE CAREFUL as this will make the bathtub slippery!), or you can apply it directly to your skin. I prefer applying the product right after showering. It is no wonder that bath and body oils are becoming so popular! Email or PM me for more details.

Prefer iced tea over hot tea? No problem! Many of the blends that Purely Herbal offers can be cold steeped and served over ice. Simply add the tea bag to 24 ounces of cold water and cover. Place container in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours. Remove the bag, pour over ice and enjoy! Here is a list of Purely Herbal teas that can be cold steeped:

Today's Featured Blend - Black Rose
This blend starts with China Black Tea as a base, so it does contain caffeine (a little less than a cup of coffee). Hibiscus flower adds a mild berry-like tartness, which balances out the dark tea base. Honeysuckle adds natural sweetness and also adds to the lovely floral scent that the Rose Buds & Petals provide.
