Blind Tiger We have a history of surprising your tastebuds, and now we will surprise you yet again! A "Blind Tiger" was actually a fascinating term from the 1800s.

Our restaurant will provide you with the history of Lenox, great food, and a great experience! It was a nickname for speakeasies and illegal drinking establishments that popped up during temperance times, particularly when alcohol restrictions were sweeping across America. In fact, the first Blind Tigers in South Carolina appeared in Charleston around 1893 as a way to resist the strict "Dispensary

" laws put in place by Governor Ben "Pitchfork" Tillman. We hope to help this name live on in with our restaurant and pay homage to this rebellious history and the history of Lenox, Iowa.

Word on the street is there’s a quiet gathering behind the 'ole door this Sunday. Plates stacked high with biscuits & gravy, eggs & bacon, sausage, pulled pork, chicken alfredo, scalloped potatoes, and brisket for those who know where to "press here".
