Y’all have been 𝗕𝗘𝗚𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗚 for our crab cakes so I’m bringing them back — with some stipulations!

I am NOT going to charge you what Maryland crab meat is going for right now. Hence the delay because I’ve been hoping the price would start to come down.

These crab cakes will be our traditional recipe but will be made with lump (no jumbo) Louisiana crab meat. ‼️

I promise, you won’t taste a difference but you will not see the huge jumbo chunks you saw in the past — at least not right now.

Cool find on the boat this morning!

This guy is missing the shell above his gills but still thriving!

Did you know crabs will EAT each other when they’re soft (right after they shed)? This can happen a lot for soft crab shedders which is why it’s important to check shedding tanks every few hours to separate new soft crabs from hard crabs that haven’t shed yet.

We are going through an active crab shed right now so if I had to guess —- this guy shed, was soft, and his shell was partially eaten by another crab or animal before he hardened back up.

PS. Don’t worry about light crabs — it might take the guys culling 10 bushels of crabs to get one good bushel of heavy crabs right now but our guys are putting in the work to make sure they are the quality you’re use to getting from us.
