With vendor season is starting up again, I have been in the kitchen almost every day working on some homemade treats. The past few weeks have been filled with apple butter, preserves, jellies, syrups, dipping herbs, vanilla, homemade soaps, balms and more! On day one of some orange marmalade right now!

First event of the season will be the Maryland Osprey Festival on April 5th at The Town of North Beach. It’s bound to be a great event!

About the event:

This Festival was created by the citizens of the Mid-Atlantic region to celebrate our charismatic Ospreys, to educate the public, agencies, and owners of structures to foster an attitude of co-existence and conservation awareness throughout the Chesapeake Bay and its estuaries.

Proceeds from the Festival go to non-profit organizations who have a vested interest in protecting and conserving Ospreys, Bald Eagles, other wildlife, and natural areas. The support and collaboration of our local government, state wide conservation and wildlife rehabilitation agencies, local and international businesses, and military community share our goals and mission: Education.Conservation.Celebration of our beautiful surroundings, and nature, and wildlife.

With the high heat of summer, I had to take a break from baking. Last night I got back in the kitchen and made a batch of pina colada zucchini bread.

Next up this week, peach cobbler!

There is nothing quite like the smell of fresh baked bread after a long day. I am excited to be adding honey oat sourdough bread to the menu soon!
