South African Tourism 3/1/2016
My idea is building a chain of restaurants to feed the South Africa tourism need. Start with a vision of walking into the front of a restaurant and entering a room full of Gifts made in South Africa. Everything from Jerky to candy, wood carvings to clothing, puppets to stuffed animals. Kind of similar to Cracker Barrel. A short walk to the left and a very nice South
African Style Restaurant. Decorated with pictures and antiques from SA. Chefs, and all staff could be on an exchange program working and going to school. There could be living quarters close by in the program. The students not only make good workers, but their dialect is very important to the success of the operation. To the right a Sports Bar, with Rugby, Hunting, African tours on TV’s. There are lots of ex-Rugby players, as it is played in all the schools, that would be great bar tenders. They too could be on an exchange for education. And in Living quarters nearby. They could explain and even teach in Rugby. The MOST IMPORTANT is a section for a travel agent. To assist in travel specials, sending tourists to South Africa. Working closely with the Airlines, Students, Game lodges, and Sight-seeing areas. This may get partially sponsored by SA as well as the student exchange. It would promote Parks like Kruger National Park, Game Lodges, Cities, and all of the beauty of SA. This program would promote jobs in SA making things for the gifts and things sold in the store. Education making sure the students are returned more educated than when they left. Keep in mind, all this doesn’t have to be authentic SA, just what the American perception of SA is, but the more authentic the better. Wayne Reed, 7676 Green Malayan Rd.
