How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard. This is my official announcement to let all of you know that the era of Tomo Restaurant has come to an end.

As most of you know, we first opened Tomo in Chevy Chase over 20 years ago. Over the past two decades I received an outpouring of support from this community during the best and some of the hardest times. I hope that you will pour this same support into the new tenant who will be taking over this special place and turning it into something new. I would also like to recognize the Equity Management team for making this a smooth transition and thank them for all that they have done for me over the years.

So this is my final thank you to everyone who I have come to know and cherish.

To my entire Tomo team, who have become my second family - all of you have a special in my heart forever. I love you.

To my regulars who shared their lives with me, I realized that regardless of how different we may seem on the outside - we all experience the same struggles and joys in life. You encouraged me to keep my momentum strong and go beyond what I thought was possible. The laughs and tears we’ve shared together have meant more to me than you know.

To the couples who had their first date at Tomo and went on to celebrate wedding anniversaries and their children’s birthdays here. It has been an honor and a privilege to watch you grow.

To all of the Tomo children who grew up coming to my restaurant and eventually brought their own children in. Your smiling faces and hugs brought so much light to my life.

To everyone who came through these doors to enjoy a meal (and maybe one too many sake bombs), I thank you and appreciate your long lasting support of Tomo Restaurant from the bottom of my heart.

I wasn’t born in Lexington, but truly feel like I am a Lexingtonian and am part of a beautiful community. If you see me around town, please say hello and let’s keep the good vibes going.
