For Sheriff Blake Wilson, it was just another day on the job. One minute he’s handling calls and keeping the peace, the next he’s responding to a “slow-moving traffic situation” caused by a turtle with no regard for the speed limit.
Protecting the community doesn’t always mean high-speed chases or flashing lights. Sometimes, it means giving a stubborn little reptile a safe es**rt across the road before it causes the county’s longest traffic jam. Around here, Sheriff Wilson serves and protects everyone, big and small, fast and very, very slow.

Turtle in the Way Cafe Partners with LR Lightning Basketball — Introduces “ShellShock” Mascot & Official Game Day Concessions

Little Rock, Arkansas — Turtle in the Way Cafe is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with the Little Rock Lightning, Little Rock’s professional basketball team. As part of the collaboration, the beloved Turtle mascot will officially transform into the team’s new game-day personality: “ShellShock.”

The partnership allows Turtle in the Way Cafe to operate an official concession stand during LR Lightning home games, bringing a unique, high-energy food experience to fans.

“This is more than a concession stand,” said Robert Addison, founder of Turtle in the Way Cafe. “It’s about creating an environment. ShellShock represents energy, resilience, and fun — everything we want fans to feel when they come to a Lightning game.”

Fans will be able to enjoy a custom-designed ShellShock Concessions menu featuring a variety of assorted themed treats and drinks!

The collaboration comes at an exciting time for the LR Lightning as plans move forward for a new arena, opening the door for community engagement opportunities.

“This partnership is just the beginning,” Addison added. “As the team grows and the new arena develops, we see ShellShock becoming a staple of the Little Rock sports experience.”

The new season kicks off with the LR Lightning hosting the Enid Outlaws this Saturday, March 7th, at 5PM, in the Hall High George E.
