Snowdon Chalet Motel

Snowdon Chalet Motel Snowdon Chalet Motel - A cool little Vermont retro place to stay! Snowdon Motel has been welcoming guests since 1962. WiFi is provided free of charge.

Please bear in mind Snowdon Chalet is truly retro/vintage (60 years old) and is not ‘new’ and that is the charm of our little motel. Snowdon Chalet Motel is perfect for all your four-season Vermont adventures. This Londonderry retro alpine chalet-style motel has 10 rooms and is set amidst the natural splendor of Vermont, has panoramic views of Glebe Mountain AKA Magic Mountain Ski Area (elevation

of about 2,940 feet) as our backdrop in the middle of the Taconic Mountains and the Green Mountains with the US Forest Service Office only 14 miles from Snowdon. Close to 4 different Alpine Ski resorts including Magic Mountain, Stratton, Bromley, and Okemo. Also close to Viking Nordic Center, The Vermont Country Store, Weston Priory, Kinhaven Music School, and Weston Playhouse. Guests eager to get close to nature will appreciate Snowdon Chalet's park-like setting on 5 acres, with perennial gardens, picnic areas, and a shared grill for guests to use. Several lakes are nearby including Lowell Lake State Park, Hapgood Pond, and Emerald Lake State Park. Dining is available nearby, as Garden Café & Gallery, The New American Grill, Jake’s Restaurant and Tavern, Revival Kitchen, Maple Leaf Diner and Grandma Miller’s Pies are all within 2 miles of the Snowdon Chalet Motel. Shopping nearby at Londonderry Village Market Grocery Store, Green Mountain Pharmacy, D Lasser Ceramics, Waterwheel Quilt Shop, The Vermont Country Store in Weston, and more outlet shopping and chef-owned restaurants close by in Manchester and Chester Vermont. Things to do: Taylor Farm (known for their Gouda cheese and sleigh rides), plenty of Farmers Markets during the summer and fall. How about something different like glassblowing at Manchester Hot Glass or The Weston Priory. Take in a show at The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company that is just up the road. The Appalachian Trail isn’t too far from us either. Book a few nights as there is always something to do here in the Green Mountains. Please keep in mind Londonderry Vermont is very rural and does not have any mass transportation and/or taxi/Ubar service so please plan accordingly. Londonderry Vermont is authentic Vermont. You will not find any fast-food drive-throughs or billboards or big box stores. So roll your window down and take in a fresh breath of Vermont air and relax. We’ll see you soon.

Ye Olde Tavern is one of our favorite places to recommend to our guests to travel back in time, Vermont style!

Route 100 is Vermont’s longest state highway, stretching more than 216 miles from the Massachusetts border to Newport near Canada. Often called Vermont’s “Main Street,” it winds through the Green Mountains, connecting classic villages such as Wilmington, Ludlow, Waitsfield, Warren, Waterbury, and Stowe while passing ski areas, waterfalls, covered bridges, farms, and some of the state’s best foliage scenery. Popular stops include Moss Glen Falls, the Vermont Country Store, the Calvin Coolidge Historic Site, and the Mad River Valley. While the drive can be completed in a day, most travelers spread it over several days to enjoy hiking, local food, scenic overlooks, and small-town Vermont culture.
