⚡ Blindsided After 14 Months of Silence — Forced to Pay for Power We Never Had
Dear Friends,
For the past 14 months, we stayed silent.
We didn’t protest.
We didn’t go public.
We kept our heads down and our mouths shut, hoping that if we worked quietly and respectfully, the process of reopening Persian Gulf would go smoothly.
But after everything—after the fire, after heartbreak, after endless code upgrades and inspections—we’re being hit with a devastating blow.
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power sent us a $34,000 bill for electricity we never received.
Let us say it clearly:
Our building had no power, no electric box, no cables, and no meter.
We were shut down. We were in total darkness.
We didn’t even have a permit to reopen.
And yet—they billed us.
Then, they threatened disconnection.
Finally, after months of pleading and demanding an inspection, they admitted we were right… and reduced the bill to $23,000.
But they still demand we pay now—even though we still don’t have permission to reopen.
This is not just unfair—it’s heartbreaking.
We’ve survived on hope and community support. We’ve come this far thanks to your kindness.
And now, this unjust bill is one more heavy blow trying to stop us—and we refuse to let it.
Persian Gulf is not just a restaurant.
It is a museum. A cultural sanctuary.
It was created to preserve and defend the name, history, and soul of the Persian Gulf, right here in Los Angeles.
We are asking—please—stand with us now.
Help us raise what we need to fight this injustice and keep our dream alive.
Donate what you can. Share this with your networks. Remind the world what Persian Gulf stands for.
We didn’t make it through 14 months of struggle just to lose everything to a power bill for power we never had.
With gratitude, resilience, and hope,
Team Persian Gulf
