Tomorrow afternoon at LULU, we welcome our friend Robin Greenfield .greenfield for a conversation about his remarkable year spent living entirely from foraged food.
Robin will join us Sunday at 3:30 p.m. for a talk and informal meet-and-greet.

In honor of the occasion, Chef-in-Residence Giles Clark has prepared two special prix fixe menus inspired by the wild and seasonal pantry for this Saturday dinner and Sunday lunch. Our regular à la carte menu will also be available throughout the weekend.

We know it can be affordable for schools to buy directly from the people who grow the food—and that’s exactly what Alice’s new book, A School Lunch Revolution, is all about. 🗓️ Join us this Sunday, November 30, for a special book signing during our lunch service.

Alice will be signing books from 12–2 pm, and our menus for the day will feature dishes inspired by recipes we’ve developed for children.

Recently, we had the joyful privilege of welcoming students from Cochran Middle School and serving them an organic, regenerative lunch—offering a glimpse of what’s possible when we bring care, food, and education together. These free meals we’ve been serving here at LULU to Title I schools visiting the museum are provided by the Lulu Project and our ongoing effort to show that we can make nourishing, sustainable school lunches a reality.

Just a few weeks ago, we had the honor of preparing lunch for a group of bright-eyed fifth graders from Monte Vista Elementary, visiting the Hammer Museum as part of the Classroom-in-Residence program. Organic chicken tenders, a spring pasta salad with snap peas, crisp romaine with ranch, and the sweetest strawberries from Harry’s Berries—what every day school lunch should be.

One child looked at their plate and said, “This is the best meal I’ve ever had in my life.” Another marveled, “I didn’t even know salad could taste this good.” Moments like these remind us why food matters. Why how we grow, prepare, and share it matters. This is the heartbeat of the Hammer Food Project Foundation, LULU’s nonprofit arm. Through it, we:

🌱 Serve free organic meals to LAUSD Title 1 students at the Hammer
🌱 Support a regenerative garden for veterans at the West L.A. V.A. campus
🌱 Host programs that teach the beauty and power of sustainable food

We believe food can teach, can heal, can bring people together. Every child deserves access to meals grown with care, and served with love. If this work speaks to you, stay tuned as there's so much more to come.
