The Pernicano establishment's roots stretch back to the 1940s, when George and Isabelle Pernicano opened their doors in Hillcrest, generously giving away pizza slices to introduce the local population to 'pizza pie.' A veteran of the Army Air Corps and early Chargers minority owner who played a pivotal role in the team's 1961 arrival in San Diego, George was inducted into the Chargers Hall of Fame in 1996. Following George's passing in 2016 at the age of 98, the family's enduring legacy in San Diego's dining scene remained evident through the multitude of restaurants operated by the Pernicano brothers. 🍕👍💕😊👌
