💚 This beautiful spring house was a part of A'Sturgis Station, one of several stations established along the Middle Fork of Beargrass Creek in Louisville, KY, during the 1780s. A'Sturgis Station was settled by Peter A'Sturgis and housed between 20 to 40 families.
💛 This station was on land owned by William Christian. William's eldest daughter, Priscilla married Alexander Bullitt. Christian gave the newly married couple 1,000 acres as a wedding gift. That acreage would become Oxmoor Farm.
🤎 The spring house, one log cabin, and the family cemetery are all that remain of this early "considerable fort and settlement."
